Free skincare? Yes, it exists. And no, it's not your bestie's leftover samples. 😉
1️⃣ Change your pillowcase regularly
Every night your face spends 8 hours pressed into oil, sweat, dead skin and last night's serum. If you wouldn't wipe your face with a week-old towel… 👀 Swap it 2–3 times a week, especially if you're breakout-prone.
2️⃣ Drink more water
Your skin cells need water to function, and dehydration shows up as dullness and fine lines that look deeper than they are. Water won't replace a good moisturizer, but your skin can't glow on coffee alone. ☕️ (I checked.)
3️⃣ Stop touching your face without washing your hands
Your hands touch door handles, your phone and the grocery cart. Then they rest on your chin during a Zoom call. That's how bacteria and oil get delivered right to your pores. Hands off, ladies. 🙅♀️
4️⃣ Use lukewarm water to wash your face
Hot water feels amazing, but it strips the natural oils that protect your skin barrier. That leaves you tight, dry and red, especially if you have rosacea. Save the hot water for your tea. 🫖
5️⃣ Brush your teeth before washing your face
Toothpaste foam and residue around your mouth can irritate the skin there and trigger breakouts. Brush first, then cleanse it all away. Your chin will thank you. 🪥
6️⃣ Apply SPF every day, rain or shine
UVA rays go straight through clouds AND windows. They're the rays that break down collagen and cause pigmentation. A grey October day in New Brunswick still counts. Yes, even in your car. Yes, even in winter. ☀️🌧️
