A patient of ours has a toe spacer he relies on for daily comfort during walking. He is very painful when not using it and he was worried that this handmade one would tear or fall apart. We were able to take a digital scan of the toe spacer and 3D print a few trials for him to try. Each trial was slightly different in how soft they were. After trial wear, minor adjustments were made and a negative mold was printed to be injected with silicone for a durable, washable, and repeatable device should he want more in the future.

Meet Tilly! Another canine friend who came to us to see about making her mobility a little easier. She lost her two front legs and half of one back leg after a trauma shortly after she was born. She gets around now by hopping or rolling to where she wants to be and there is no where she can’t go.
We put a few design ideas in place and came up with a new wheelchair design, 3D printed with TPU and integrated roller blade ball bearings for the wheels. Our first trial went pretty good and after taking some notes the second fitting went even better! She was able to easily maneuver the wheelchair and totally surprised us when she used her partial back leg to help propel herself forward! We expect Tilly will become more accustomed to using her wheelchair at home and can’t wait to see the places she’ll go!
