How exciting is this? Kari Graham, Chen Xi and I completed 25 music folders for Healing Voices Encore Edition. (93 more to go!) We are dreaming big. 87 members confirmed and it is only Oct. The HEALING VOICES CHOIR is taking registrations for their 2027 encore edition! This is a unique opportunity for those who have walked the cancer journey at any time - be it as a patient, caregiver, or medical professional - to gather together to raise our voices in song in preparation for a special fundraising concert on Sunday February 14. And registrations are now open! Our rehearsals will begin after the Christmas rush on Saturday January 16th at 10:30 am, and will continue for the next four Saturday mornings until our February 14th concert. So, if you want to sing, join a supportive community, and release those endorphins that offer healing, we'd LOVE to see you! And there's no cost to participate!
Registrations are already coming in, so please don't delay. Your music folder awaits!

I am looking forward to seeing you all and greeting new folks too! Don't forget to mark the dates. We start rehearsals January 16th and our concert is February 14th. Your choral tracks and tinker tracks are completed. Music folders will be assembled soon. Your new music is fun, hopeful and comforting. And I am sure you'll know the tunes. Registration for Healing Voices 2 will begin in Sept. I'll send out an email next week if you were in last year's choir asking you to reconfirm your interest and inviting new members to join us as we sing in our supportive and caring community.

Save the dates! For those that plan ahead, here are the dates for our rehearsals in 2027: Jan 16, 23, 30 Feb 6, Feb 13 and concert: Feb 14, 2027. We will be taking registrations in September.

What happens when music, community, and compassion come together? Incredible things. 💙

We are deeply grateful to Kelly Galbraith, Healing Voices and everyone involved in the inaugural You've Got a Friend Concert, which raised an amazing $9,341 in support of the Cancer Support Centre.

Held at St. Mark's United Church, this special afternoon of music celebrated friendship, resilience, and hope while bringing our community together to support those affected by cancer.

At the heart of the event was Healing Voices, a welcoming choir created for individuals who are undergoing or have experienced cancer treatment, as well as caregivers, family members, and supporters. Under the leadership of Kelly Galbraith, the choir provides a space where music becomes a source of connection, healing, and strength.

Thank you to Kelly, Healing Voices, the performers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who attended and donated. Your generosity helps ensure that individuals and families facing cancer have access to vital support services when they need them most.
