A little reminder about appointments, cancellations, and kindness. 🤍

When you book an appointment with me, that time is reserved for you. I value your time, prepare for your visit, and make space to focus on your care. I simply ask for that same consideration in return.

Recently, there have been more no-shows and same-day cancellations. These appointments can be difficult to fill at short notice, leaving time unused that another patient may have needed.

I understand that illness, emergencies, and unexpected changes happen. Please contact the clinic as soon as you know you cannot attend, and familiarize yourself with my cancellation policy when booking.

I also want to make something clear:

**this policy is mine.**

The front desk is following my instructions when they explain or enforce it. They work hard to support our patients and keep the clinic running, and they deserve to be treated with kindness and respect in every conversation.

You are welcome to ask questions or share concerns respectfully. Frustration with a policy should never become mistreatment of the person communicating it.

Thank you to everyone who communicates with us, respects their appointment time, and treats our team with care. It means a great deal. 🤍

Meet Taylor 👋 I am a Registered Massage Therapist who works with people bringing jaw, neck and injury-related concerns to appointments. In this video I talk about why I chose this work, how I approach an assessment, and what you can expect when we discuss treatment options together. If you have wondered what an RMT appointment for jaw or neck concerns might involve, watch the full introduction on YouTube and bring your questions to an appointment.

Ever catch yourself clenching your jaw while concentrating, chewing gum for hours, or holding your phone low enough that your neck stays in one position?

In this video, I break down common habits that may be relevant to jaw symptoms or neck discomfort. I don’t ask my patients to stop their habits altogether. Instead, we focus on becoming more aware of them and making small, manageable changes toward healthier habits.

Stress, sleep, dental factors, injury, and other health concerns can also play a role. A habit is a clue to explore—not a diagnosis or proof of the cause.

Being aware of your habits and bringing them to my attention helps guide a more specific assessment and a treatment plan tailored to you. 🤍

Where you feel your symptoms isn’t always where the contributing dysfunction lies.

With jaw concerns, for example, the side experiencing symptoms may differ from the side with altered movement or muscle function. Similarly, neck concerns may involve structures at the front or sides of the neck—even when discomfort is felt elsewhere. Your history and assessment help guide which areas may benefit from treatment.

The front of the neck can be particularly sensitive. In this video, I explain what treatment to this area may look like, including discussing potential benefits and risks, obtaining informed consent, and maintaining communication throughout.

Your consent is ongoing. You can ask questions, request adjustments, or stop treatment at any time. 🤍

A reminder to pay attention to what your body is telling you. Notice when jaw discomfort appears, whether you catch yourself clenching, and which activities seem to coincide with neck symptoms. A quick note about timing, frequency and what changes the feeling may be useful when you speak with Taylor. This post is general education; a social post cannot determine the cause of symptoms or replace an individual assessment.

When the patient won’t move down on the table, I have to take matters into my own hands. 😅 A little treatment-room humor about getting everyone positioned for an appointment. In real care, I explain what needs to change and ask before assisting with positioning. You can tell me what is comfortable, ask for an adjustment, or move yourself at your own pace.

My favorite part of being an RMT is hearing what matters to the person in front of me. Someone may want to talk about jaw symptoms, neck pain, or how an injury affects their day. We take time to discuss their history, assess what is appropriate and agree on goals for care. I value the chance to explain the plan clearly and make room for questions throughout the appointment.

👻 Better late than never… Happy October!🎃

A few quick updates:

• I am away Oct. 9–13 — back in clinic Wednesday, Oct. 14
• My clinic schedule is filling quickly — book ahead or hop on the waitlist! Spots do come up.
• Reminder that Fridays I work from my home treatment space — schedule is linked in my bio; message me to book.

Your October reminder: take care of yourself, unclench your jaw… and don’t ghost your RMT. 👻

Benjamin, however, has fully embraced his new role as ghost dog and cannot make the same promise. 😂🐾

Happy spooky season! 🎃
