Do you like cookies? We sure do, especially when they are made by Lucia White!

Lucia experienced a serious health challenge. Throughout her healing journey she has been buoyed by the compassionate care she has received from her care team at Shoreline Medical Society and decided to give back in the best way she knows how, through food.

Lucia bakes a wonderful variety of gourmet cookies to fundraise on behalf of Shoreline. Cookies are available for purchase each week at Janet's Special Teas in Sidney. Drop by to pick up or order yours today and support Lucia in her goal of raising $10,000 to support the work we do providing multidisciplinary, patient-centred and caring primary healthcare on the .

400 peninsula youth were supported by Shoreline's Youth Clinic in 2025. The Youth Clinic provides a safe, welcoming, non-judgmental space for all genders, supporting early intervention, resource navigation, health education, peer support and care during times of crisis.

The Shoreline Youth Clinic provides free, confidential medical, mental health, sexual health, and substance-use care to young people aged 12 - 24 across the Saanich Peninsula. It is the only service of it's kind in our region and is primarily funded by donations from our generous community. A $50 donation today provides a free mental health counselling session for a youth tomorrow. Visit www.shorelinemedical.ca/donate to support a youth in our community.

If someone you know needs support the clinic operates weekly using a multidisciplinary model that includes a physician, mental health counsellors, and trained peer health educators. Appointments can be booked by calling 250-656-4143, then 7, then 1.

Today, we are pausing and listening with open ears, hearts, and minds, to the stories of survivors and their families as we remember those who did not come home from residential school. We recognize the deep impact residential schools had on the individuals that lived through them and the intergenerational trauma affecting their families and communities today. This week our staff will wear the orange shirt symbolizing the loss of culture, freedom, and self-esteem that many Indigenous children experienced at residential schools and reminding us that “Every Child Matters”.

That's a wrap on the 1st annual Pickles for Patients Charity Classic!!! Thank you to our partners Court Crushers and Panorama Recreation and sponsors Vancouver Island Pickleball - Official Group Page and Peninsula Community Pickleball Club for making this event possible.
