So why have we joined clinics?
We are coordinating our efforts to resolve the ongoing concern of unsafe and unregulated Advanced Foot Care and Podiatry Services in Swift Current and surrounding area that has plagued the community for quite some time. As medical professionals it has always been our ethical stance to put patient safety first and to ensure the practice of Podiatry and Advanced Foot Care is held to the highest clinical standard.
Treatment of diabetic limbs, ingrown nails, corn removal, warts, pressure ulcers, and funguses and the tools used to treat those concerns; are reserved for the medical professional. Nurses and Podiatrists have taken the time (and at great expense) the education to receive the necessary training. Therefore, we conduct these treatments safely and put your health first.
This training comes with the ability to ensure the clinic, practitioner, and services provided, meaning to you the patient, are protected if something happens during your treatment. Unregulated providers such as Podologists (another name for Pedicurist), are not insured nor regulated to provide advanced foot care (which is a medical intervention) and as such, you the patient would be left to pick up the pieces.
All treatments and receipts should come with an itemized bill, but more importantly an independent practice number, or professional license number. Most services will be covered by insurance and in some cases able to be direct billed. Even without insurance, reputable health interventions are covered on income taxes at the end of the year and claimable as a health expense.
At Footworks and Sole Mates we will do all we can to ensure you receive the safest medically approved care possible while not destroying your pocketbook with empty promises.
Take back control of your foot health and see why the professionals are the better option.
