Unfortunately, Algoma Manor’s 3rd Annual Community Fall Fair, scheduled for today, Sunday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., has been cancelled due to rain.

Thank you to our vendors, volunteers, residents, staff, and community members for your hard work and support. We’re disappointed we won’t be gathering for today’s fall fun, and we appreciate your understanding. 💛

Something witchy is coming our way… 🧙‍♀️ The Blind River Witches will be stopping by! Keep an eye on this page—we’ll reveal the time of their visit once it’s confirmed. ✨

Come browse local vendors and enjoy some fall fun. Our residents’ Men’s Group has been busy making tie-dye T-shirts for the fair, and proceeds from our bake sale will support our Home Care Lending Library, which helps community members access equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers.

Bring a friend and celebrate the season with us. We can’t wait to see you there! 🍁

Enrollment is now open for Algoma Manor's January 2027 Practical Nursing Living Classroom.

In partnership with Fleming College students graduate in just two years in this accelerated program. The curriculum is designed to strengthen theory with concurrent practical experience at Algoma Manor's labs using tech, high touch simulation tools and real-life LTC experience. This program is offered as a hybrid-virtual model of learning with theory classes connected online, and in-person clinical and lab classes at Algoma Manor Nursing Home.

We would be honoured if you would join us at Algoma Manor on Friday, September 18th for Long-Term Care Community Engagement Day.

On this province-wide day, long-term care homes across Ontario will open their doors to welcome residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners. It is an opportunity to showcase the care, connection, and sense of community that define long-term care, while highlighting the important role Algoma Manor plays in supporting seniors and families in Thessalon and the surrounding area.

Our day will begin at 10:00am with opening remarks. Drop-in booths and displays will be available until 1:00pm, followed by a tasting of snacks from around the world. At 1:30pm, we will conclude the day with a special celebration recognizing the unique strengths, accomplishments and contributions of our residents. We will also unveil our collaborative resident artwork, share highlights from the day and offer our thanks to the residents, families, staff, volunteers and community partners who help make Algoma Manor a place of care, connection, and belonging. We hope you will join us for this meaningful day of celebration, recognition, and community connection.
