At the age of 17, my best friend in school got cancer.

After supporting her through her cancer journey, I wanted to understand the disease, and do something about it. Struck with my own significant health trauma, that left me in rehabilitation for years, I discovered alternative healing modalities, and experienced an amazing breakthrough. Years into my work as a cancer researcher, cancer hit once more people I loved. I made a decision; I would work directly with people affected by cancer. As a cancer coach I assure you: YOU ARE NEVER ALONE IN THIS.

Do plants contribute to clean air in your house?

What is needed for optimal air filtration?

What kind of toxins are removed?

I am using house plants for years to remove formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene from my apartment.

There are many articles out there that talk about which are the "BEST" plants.

However, there is more to it than just the plant itself.

The major sources, which have been reported and publicized, include urea-formaldehyde foam insulation (UFFI) and particle board or pressed-wood products. Consumer paper products, including grocery bags, waxed papers, facial tissues, and paper towels, are treated with urea- formaldehyde (UF) resins. Many common household cleaning agents contain formaldehyde. UF resins are used as stiffeners, wrinkle resisters, water repellants, fire retardants, and adhesive binders in floor covering, carpet backing, and permanent-press clothes. Other sources of formaldehyde include cigarette smoke and heating and cooking fuels such as natural gas and kerosene."

How often do you wake up with pleasant thoughts that make you feel happy? 🙄

In my experience, my first thoughts are often about something that causes me worry or fear.

This is not unusual. Our brains are wired for survival. To calculate how much energy will be needed to get you through the day, the mind predicts the worst case scenario because dealing with stress or danger takes more energy than laying relaxed at the beach.

If you don't pay attention to those thoughts and the stress it creates for your body, this energy is likely to follow you throughout the day.

But what if you consciously start your day creating peace of mind first?

Switch people between a whole food plant-based diet and more of an animal food-based diet, and you can see dramatic shifts within the microbiome just in two days. Switching to an animal food-based diet can result in toxic metabolites, such as an increase in levels of deoxycholic acid, which can promote DNA damage and liver cancers. Why do levels of deoxycholic acid go up? Because the bad bacteria producing the stuff triple—in just two days of switching to an animal food-based diet.

Two Gardens

"You have two gardens, your own garden and that of your beloved. First you have to take care of your own garden and master the art of gardening. In each one of us there are flowers and garbage. The garbage is the anger, fear, discrimination, and jealousy within us. If you water the garbage, you will strengthen the negative seeds. If you water the flowers of compassion, understanding, and love, you will strengthen the positive seeds. What you grow is up to you.

If you don’t know how to practice selective watering in your own garden, then you won’t have enough wisdom to help water the flowers in the garden of your beloved. In cultivating your own garden well, you also help to cultivate her garden.

Even a week of practice can make a big difference. You can do it. Every time you practice walking mindfully, investing your mind and body in every step, you are taking your situation in hand. Every time you breathe in and know you are breathing, every time you breathe out and smile to your out-breath, you are yourself, you are your own master, and you are the gardener of your own garden. We are relying on you to take good care of your garden, so that you can help your beloved take care of hers.

If you have a difficult relationship, and you want to make peace with the other person, you have to go home to yourself. Go home to your garden and cultivate the flowers of peace, compassion, understanding and joy. Only after that can you come to your partner and be patient and compassionate."
