The All-or-Nothing Trap — "I already messed up today, so I'll start again tomorrow."

You start the day with the best intentions.
You've planned your meals, you're going to get your steps in and you're determined to complete your commitments.
Then something doesn't go according to plan.

And suddenly, instead of continuing with the rest of your day, you decide the whole thing is ruined!

But why do we do that?

Why does one missed commitment sometimes make us feel like everything else we've accomplished no longer counts?

Why do we feel like we need to wait until tomorrow, Monday or even next month to start again?

Tonight, we're talking about perfectionism, the pressure we put on ourselves and how that all-or-nothing mindset can actually get in the way of making progress.

We'll explore how to recognize those thinking patterns, make room for compromise and learn to move forward without needing everything to be perfect.

Because one choice doesn't define your entire day!

🚶‍♂️❤️ Monday Walks, Friends & Fur Babies! 🐾

Yesterday evening, we headed out for our Monday walk, joined virtually by our KickStart members from around the world on Zoom! 🌎🚶‍♂️

We also had a special guest walking with us in person… our friend Mel, who we haven’t seen in over a year! ❤️

After an hour of walking and chatting with our KickStart community, we decided to keep the evening going with some delicious Thai food before walking back home.

Between the walking, eating and catching up, four hours flew by! 😂 It’s amazing how quickly time passes when you’re enjoying good company!

And since we’ve been home from our weekend away, Saba, Maui and Peru have been giving us LOTS of love! 🐈‍⬛🐾 Apparently they missed their dads just a little bit! 😂❤️

A pretty great way to start the week!

🍁🍂 A Little Fall Detour! 🥾

On our way home from another fun Rustic Mama Retreats weekend at Cedar Ridge, we decided to make one more stop before heading back to Toronto!

This time, we headed to Eagle’s Nest Lookout in Bancroft to take in some of Ontario’s beautiful fall colours! 🍁

And WOW… what a view! 😍 The colourful trees stretching out across the landscape were absolutely gorgeous. There’s something about Northern Ontario in the fall that never gets old!

We’ve really been enjoying getting out and exploring more of Ontario this year, and little stops like this remind us just how much beauty we have right here in our own backyard. ❤️

🍁🏕️ Another RMR Weekend! ❤️

This past weekend, we were back at Camp Cedar Ridge for the last women’s Rustic Mama Retreats weekend there this year!

It’s hard to believe we’re already wrapping up another season at Cedar Ridge! Another fun weekend of catching up with friends, meeting some new faces, sharing lots of laughs and making more memories. ❤️

One of the things we love most about these weekends is getting to see so many familiar faces and watching the friendships we’ve made through RMR continue to grow. It’s amazing how many wonderful people have become part of our lives because of these retreats!
