🍳😋 I get so many questions asking about what I have for breakfast in the morning … so here you go! ⁣

I actually eat the same thing almost every day, because:
1) I love it,
2) it’s easy, and
3) it’s aligned with my goals ⁣

Tada …. Coconut Yogurt with a scoop of protein powder, a Paleo Granola I like from Costco, Flax Seed, Chia Seeds, Berries.⁣

I will take a pretty picture for you tomorrow lol ⁣

This meal packs 20+ grams of protein that not only will keep me feeling full for my busy morning but also makes sure my metabolism is lit up !! ⁣

Life is pretty busy in my house in the mornings so I try to set everything set up for breakfast the night before! So I just have to open the fridge and grab …. for kids too!I ⁣

In making sure that everyone else is fueled up and getting a healthy start to the day, I would find myself ‘just waiting’ till it was my turn to ‘think’ about what I would have.⁣

✅ It depends on the goal of your workout.

➡️If sculpting a strong core is your top priority, train it FIRST, when you are freshest.

➡️ If you have another goal – like doing intense athletic drills or lifting heavy weights – do your core exercises at the END of your workout.

👍 That way your core muscles are ready, willing, and able to support your body through your entire workout – and are not prefatigued by other exercises.

BONUS TIP:
Treat your abs/core just like every other muscle group and give it plenty of rest between sessions – there’s no need to work those muscles every day.

Deep down I just didn’t want to believe her ... I wanted to go back to eating my amazing dinner (with amazing wine) … 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐓 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄.⁣

But once those words were out, I couldn’t ‘unhear’ them:⁣

Now I’m sure she had the best intentions, and I truly believe that aging gracefully and loving my body at all stages is important….⁣

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞!?!?⁣

My heart sank as I was just getting over an embarrassing experience where the skinny skirt I spanxed myself into split all the way up, I didn’t notice and was walking around a room filled with 300 people. 😩 ⁣

Yes, I was aging and my hormones were definitely changing 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐈 𝐃𝐈𝐃𝐍’𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓 𝐈𝐓.⁣

✨ 𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 to feel strong.⁣

✨ 𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 to be able to run and play with my kids (and grandkids on day) on the beach in my bikini without having to worry about cover-ups or the dreaded candid photo being taken.⁣

✨ 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 to not feel embarrassed getting changed in front of my husband of 15 years. 😏 {even though he loved me tummy and all}⁣

So right then and there, in the middle of a 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐨, 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐌𝐆 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.⁣

𝘐’𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘉𝘌𝘛𝘛𝘌𝘙! ⁣

✔️ I ate clean and healthy (salads with enough protein, shakes, lots of veggies, limited my carbs - no treats !) ⁣

✔️ I worked out harder and⁣

✔️ white-knuckled it through intense cravings, energy lows, and moodiness.⁣

When we talk about detoxing we have to talk about your liver. One of your hormone's BFFs or ❌.⁣

1. Sweet Potato ➡️ one of the most nutrient-dense foods and a great meta friendly carb.

2. Brussel Sprouts ➡️ packed with fibre and Vit C

I couldn't believe she told me this… 😱
Deep down I just didn’t want to believe her...I wanted to go back to eating my amazing dinner (with amazing wine) … GUILT FREE.
But once those words were out, I couldn’t un-hear them:

“You know Moni, You’ve had kids late and you’re over 40...this is what happens. You just have to learn to love and accept your body the way it is now”.
😡🙈🤔
Now I’m sure she had the best intentions, and I truly believe that aging gracefully and loving my body at all stages is important….
But what she said couldn’t be true! I still wanted to feel 🔥 hawt 🔥!
I still wanted to feel strong.
I still wanted to be able to run and play with my kids on the beach in my bikini without having to worry about cover-ups or the dreaded candid photo being taken.
So right then and there, in the middle of a bite, I had a major OMG moment.
Yes, I was aging and my hormones and metabolism were changing BUT I DIDN’T HAVE TO JUST ACCEPT IT.
Instead of doing the things that worked when I was in my 20’s & 30’s maybe I needed to accept that my body had changed and start changing my approach to food & workouts to match?!
When I had that OMG moment...that realization that maybe since my body was changing my approaches needed to change too, I was READY to do things differently and I jumped into learning with both feet.
