SOS 4 Health

SOS 4 Health Nutrition Advice and Special Products Holistic Nutritionists focus on nutritional needs of our individual cells. In addition, Sauni is a Breast Cancer survivor.

This means that the focal point is on how to get the best quality and highest number of micronutrients into the body within an individual’s daily allowance of food and drink. It also means that avoiding toxins and irritants which interfere with cellular activity is also critical. Holistic Nutrition and nutritional counselling focuses on preventing and treating nutritional imbalances in the body. W

hen the body is out of balance symptoms are experienced. These symptoms are the body’s way of telling you that problems are developing. If balance is not restored, disease can be the result. Here at SOS 4 Health, our Holistic Nutritionist, Sauni, will assess clients’ nutritional deficits and systemic insufficiencies, with a focus on designing nutrition programs that aim to provide relief of symptoms and correcting underlying imbalances. These programs may include the avoidance of and/or the inclusion of specific foods and beverages, tips on how to prepare foods, menu planning ideas, recommendations about dietary supplementation and/or herbal suggestions, and lifestyle and environmental alterations to bring about the desired results whether that is the relief of certain symptoms, weight loss, or a general improvement in lifestyle to help you move gracefully through your senior years. Sauni is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN). She is a graduate of the University of Toronto and has a Bachelor Degree in Biology and Psychology, a second Bachelor Degree in Education, and a Master Degree in Health Sciences. She has worked as a Speech Pathologist here in Ontario as well as in British Columbia and Alberta. She also lived in New Zealand for several years where she worked as an independent researcher and co-authored several articles on human rights in employment. She was diagnosed in 2003. After 3 surgeries she was told that she was not a candidate for either radiation or chemotherapy. Left to fight for her life on her own, she decided to start by ‘getting a grip’ on her lifestyle. Sauni promptly lost 65 excess pounds by changing her diet and becoming more active. Once she hit the ‘inevitable’ plateau in her recovery, she enrolled in the Holistic Nutritionist program and, as they say, “the rest is history”. In the beginning, working with a Holistic Nutritionist will involve an extensive fact gathering visit which will allow for the assessment of symptoms, health concerns, health history, dietary restrictions, current state of health, and current dietary practices. From this information, the nutritionist will be able to better assess which imbalances exist within the body and the root cause of those imbalances. With this knowledge, a thorough and individualized protocol will be created. Everyone has a unique biochemistry. Therefore, two people can have the same disease or similar symptoms and yet have completely different root causes for the imbalance. This is why an individualized approach is most effective. The companies’ products on this site are recommended by Sauni. She regularly uses these many of these products herself and feels that they are effective and reasonably priced.
