The International Osteopathic Association (IOA), based in North York, Ontario, Canada, is an international professional association; with members across North America, Latin America, Africa, Caribbean, Europe, Asia & Australia, that promotes the highest standards of ethics and patient care in European style osteopathy, contributing to the health and well-being of millions of osteopathy patients. n behalf of its members, IOA lobbies for pro-osteopathy legislation and policies, promotes a positive public image of osteopathy, supports research, protects the public, and offers leadership for the advancement of the osteopathy profession. IOA issues certificates of registration & license numbers to osteopaths who are graduated from accredited osteopathic schools and who have successfully passed osteopathy board exams. IOA members are permitted to practice European style of osteopathy worldwide and to bill insurers when applicable. Osteopaths registered with IOA adhere to the code of ethics and professional guidelines set up by IOA.

Richard passed away peacefully, embraced by the love of his family.

Our deepest sympathies are with his family during this time of mourning. His unwavering dedication to his profession and the many lives he touched will forever be honored and remembered.

The significant reduction in pain, lasting effects over time, and an increase in positive biopsychosocial effects has important positive implications in utilizing osteopathic manual therapy in the treatment of chronic low back pain.

Congratulations to Malaysian osteopath & physiotherapist, Dr. Terrence Chee, DO, a 2016 DO graduate of National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) who has been officially recorded & awarded for being the first osteopath to offer osteopathic care at the highest elevation point (4700 meters above sea level). This is the first ever recorded osteopathic treatment in history at this height. It has never been done before.
