Equip KIDS International Our work is currently based in Peru. We are a small organization trying to have a big impact.

Equip KIDS International is a small, Canadian organization dedicated to advocating for and supporting children with disabilities in the global south ("developing countries"). We believe that all children deserve (and have a right to!) mobility, communication, quality healthcare and education, community/belonging and recreation - among many other things. In many countries around the world, children

with disabilities don't have access to these basic rights and they are often excluded from their communities, while their parents struggle to get by with little support and/or understanding. Our work in Peru is focused on supporting children with disabilities and their families in their struggle to access their rights, while raising awareness and knowledge about disability in broader society. We provide wheelchairs and other assistive technology to children in need; augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) support and services; we work with and support local community-based rehabilitation (CBR) programs; and we provide workshops, information and support to parents, community members and professionals that work with children with disabilities around the country. We have very low administrative costs and we rely heavily on volunteers and the solidarity of others. Please let us know if you have any questions or would like to become involved.

This weekend our team will be participating in the Toronto Waterfront 5 km race to raise awareness and funds for Equip KIDS.
