You may have heard of lymphatic drainage, but what exactly does it involve, and what makes the Dr. Vodder Method different?
📖 Curious to learn more? Swipe through our carousel to explore how your lymphatic system works and what makes this treatment approach different. 👉🏽
Working quietly behind the scenes, your lymphatic system helps maintain fluid balance, supports immune function, and returns excess fluid and proteins from your tissues to your bloodstream. Unlike your circulatory system, it doesn’t have a central pump like the heart. Instead, it relies on muscle movement, breathing, and natural contractions within the lymphatic vessels to keep fluid moving.
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) uses gentle, rhythmic, hands-on techniques designed to encourage the movement of lymphatic fluid. Unlike traditional massage, MLD uses very light, specific movements rather than deeper pressure, making it a different treatment experience.
Here at Range, Diana, RMT, has completed all of the Dr. Vodder MLD courses and continues to further her knowledge through ongoing therapy update courses.
If you’re experiencing swelling, preparing for certain surgeries, recovering from an acute sports injury, or in the early stages of lymphedema, MLD may be worth exploring. Treatment suitability depends on your individual circumstances, and some conditions require additional approaches alongside MLD.
Diana is currently offering Manual Lymph Drainage treatments but does not provide decongestive therapy bandaging.
