I cater to anyone who wants to lighten or fully remove a tattoo. TATTOO REMOVAL IN A COMFORTABLE, PRIVATE SETTING, WITHOUT THE CLINICAL FEEL. Prices are based on size, and a consult will give a better idea of how many sessions it will take to fully remove your tattoo. It is a process, and every tattoo fades differently. Numbing is required for this treatment. I carry the top rated numbing creams, and ask that it be applied prior to your appointment. Although there is room to lounge and wait for it to kick in, the current restrictions don’t allow that, and it saves you time. I’m based out of Cali Babe shop. It’s small and comfortable, and offers microneedling, lashes, teeth whitening, hair removal, facials, Tripolo, and IPL treatments. WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE GETTING YOUR TATTOO REMOVED
know a bit about what to expect. when you get a tattoo lasered, it will fade - not disappear. you’ll need multiple sessions to fade it out completely, and that depends on a few things (but more on that below). it will feel like an elastic band snapping on your skin, which is why your skin will be numbed with numbing cream prior to the treatment. you’ll also be given a cooling device to blow cold air on the area. it’s called a zimmer - ask for one. your tattoo will disappear as it’s being lasered and will look like it’s “frosted”, but by the time you leave it will still have the colour as it did before the treatment. it will take two weeks for your tattoo to show the full effects of how much the treatment has faded your tattoo. and here’s why:
know a bit about how it works. it’s not heat that fades your tattoo - it’s vibration. if anyone tries to tell you they can take your tattoo off with their photothermal laser (which uses heat) - don’t be their guinea pig. ink removal is done with a photoacoustic (photomechanical) laser. heat has nothing to do with removing ink in a tattoo. the laser shatters the ink by the vibration of the laser. it’s still there, just displaced and broken up into smaller particles. then, specialized cells of your immune system, called macrophages, travel to the broken ink particles and carry them to your lymph. macrophages are like the little soldiers in your body that travel to injuries to defend against infection and injury. they attack anything foreign, and because your tattoo ink has now been shattered into particles small enough, it’s seen as foreign and is carried away. it takes time. tattoos don’t disappear after one treatment, and the number of times you’ll need to have it lasered will depend on a few things: how heavy-handed your tattoo artist was, the more likely you’ll need more treatments. the age of your tattoo - the older ones tend to fade faster. will the tattoo completely disappear and look like it was never there? possibly. but look at your tattoo - is it raised? the texture of your skin won’t change - only the colour will fade away. if your tattoo has a different texture than the rest of your skin, that will most likely stay the same. but there are other treatments available to help with skin texture, if you’re not looking to get a new tattoo in that spot. with regards to skin colour, there is a chance your skin could lighten in some spots if your a Fitzpatrick Skin Type IV and up. this should only happen when your tattoo is almost completely faded, and is because the last-to-go ink will be the deepest. your laser tech will be using parameters to go deeper into your skin, and this is what may possibly could cause hypopigmentation - lightening of your skin. make sure the laser technician has the proper credentials and knows what they’re doing. if they can’t explain this stuff to you, don’t let them treat your skin.
