Why is connection important?
FluidStory is all about connection. We are interested in creating connections and maintaining them in workplaces and at home. As many of us know, right now the space is the same! What is connection and why is it so important? Connection, defined by the dictionary is “the relationship of a person, thing, or behaviour to someone or something else”. Right now, more than ever because we are physically distanced in our normal working and social relationships, we need to develop and nurture other ways of connecting with someone and something else.
FluidStory acts as a bridge to connection between you and your peers in the workplace by helping create Peer Support teams. These Peer Support teams not only support one another but are integral to creating healthier individuals who contribute to the social relationships. A paper written in 1988 in an issue of Science, by House, J.S., Landis, K.R., and Umberson, D., states that “social connection can lower anxiety and depression, help us regulate our emotions, lead to higher self-esteem and empathy, and actually improve our immune systems. By neglecting our need to connect, we put our health at risk.” It does not take a pandemic to realize this. We are social by nature. Reach out to FluidStory to see how we can help you and your peers find connection in our new reality. We cannot wait to hear from you!
