🏫 Creating healthier schools takes teamwork.
As students return to classrooms this year, Public Health is working alongside school communities through a Health Promoting Schools (HPS) approach to help children and youth learn, grow, and thrive.
Across Nova Scotia, School Health Promoters work with school and community partners to strengthen student health and well-being across school communities by:
✅ Connecting with people and partners across regional centres for education, school boards, schools, and health and community organizations.
✅ Helping schools plan and take action to support health-promoting environments, policies, teaching and learning practices, and services and programs.
✅ Amplifying student voice and leadership in schools to inform decisions impacting their health and well-being.
A Health Promoting Schools approach is about more than health education. It's about creating school communities where every student feels supported, included, and empowered to succeed.
