Do you ever question if you are eating enough?

Underfueling can occur even without realizing it. Underfueling doesn't just mean that you aren't eating enough; it can also mean that you aren't eating the right foods to support your training and competitions.

There are three common signs of underfueling: struggling during training or competitions, dizziness, and lack of focus. But not many athletes know that there are many more signs and symptoms of underfueling. Some of these unknown symptoms and signs are posted above.

Underfueling can take many different shapes or forms, such as skipping meals, snacks, and pre & post-training fuel. But if you fuel your body correctly, it will make the right amount of energy available, which will allow you to meet your athletic goals.

If you are experiencing any of these signs & symptoms or want to ensure you are fueling your body correctly, I can help! Contact me today!

‼️Supplement Highlight‼️

Welcome to the first supplement highlight of many! For the next couple of months every other week we will be highlighting a specific supplement. This week the focus is on PROTEIN POWDER.

Protein powders are powdered forms of protein that come from milk (casein or whey), eggs or plants (soybeans, peas, rice, potatoes, or h**p). During processing, naturally occurring carbohydrates, fats, minerals, and fibre are often removed, while other ingredients such as added sugars, artificial flavoring, thickeners, vitamins, and minerals may be added.

Protein powders are NOT necessary for optimal health and performance but can be an effective and convenient way to help athletes meet their protein needs.

Many foods contain protein, but high-quality protein comes from beef, poultry, fish, eggs, milk and dairy products, soy and soy products. Including a variety of plant-based sources of protein, such as beans, nuts, and seeds throughout the day can also help to meet protein requirements.

The decision to use a protein supplement should be based on several factors, including: training load, goals, daily energy needs, typical diet, appetite post-exercise, budget and general dietary intake.

Talking with a Sports Dietitian can help to establish if the use of a protein supplement is necessary.

If you have any questions about protein powders, contact me today!
