When you’re experiencing ongoing pain, it can be difficult to think about anything else. Repattern is a 6-week program for people like you.

Repattern was created to help folks with chronic pain understand how pain works and provide a safe place to explore sensations through movement, helping you trust your body and get the skills you need to move through flare ups.

If you’re interested in joining us, Repattern takes place every Wednesday evening from 6:15 to 7:15 from September 16 to October 23. You can participate in-person or online - whatever works best for you and your needs.

You can sign up on Janeapp or reach out to us to ask any questions - we’re happy to help.

When you’re experiencing chronic pain, it can feel intimidating or scary to try something new, especially if the things you’ve already tried haven’t helped like you hoped they would.

The Repattern program gives you a new way of looking at persistent pain.

In six weeks, you’ll use Pain Reprocessing Therapy to learn how pain is generated by the brain, with guided movement and journaling to apply learnings to your unique needs.

You’ll gain a better understanding of your pain, with a safe space to feel sensations and move your body, in a group setting with other people who understand what chronic pain is like. Repattern sets the foundation to process flareups and move freely once more.

If you’re ready to join us, Repattern begins on September 16th - we’d love to see you there. Sign up on Janeapp at the link in our bio.

We had a great field trip to East Van Pilates Studio | Instructor Training Education last week, we learned from owner Kat Trainor, who taught us some Stott tips and tricks in our Pilates work. We played on the tower and with the barrels and got some great ideas and cueing for clients in our Rehab practice. Thank you to Kat and Trainor Movement Co. For hosting us!

If you’re joining our Repattern program this September, and want extra support, Repattern Plus might be the right choice for you.

Repattern Plus is an individual program you’ll do in tandem with the 6-week Repattern session. You start with an intake session with Katie, our owner, followed by six sessions with Catherine, who leads you through the Repattern program, too.

We’ll help you apply what you learned each week, giving you space to ask questions and get specific guidance for what you need.

These sessions may be eligible for insurance coverage, too.

Send us an email at [email protected] or book an intake session on Janeapp to get started.

Repattern is built on 3 pillars.

1. You are a human first, beyond your symptoms. Change begins when you feel safe and supported.

2. When you know how your nervous system interprets sensations, you can influence those sensations through daily practice.

3. Progress isn’t linear, and requires patience and self-compassion, giving you the space to see real changes in your system.

If you’re living with chronic pain and are interested in trying Pain Reprocessing Therapy in a supportive group environment, Repattern could be the right step for you.

The 6-week program starts on September 16th - sign up at the link in our bio and drop any questions you have in the comments.

In persistent pain, the brain’s map of your body can change.

Not metaphorically.
Literally.

Research on tactile discrimination shows that in painful conditions, the representation of a body part in the brain can become altered

When the map gets fuzzy:
• movement can feel awkward or clumsy
• the area feels “not quite right,” off, or different
• coordination diminishes
• pain often increases

This is why we sometimes train:
• touch awareness
• left/right recognition
• slow controlled movement
• with graded exposure

We’re not just strengthening tissue.

We’re refining the brain’s map.

👇 Try this:
Close your eyes and lightly trace your painful area with your finger.

Does it feel clear and precise? Or vague and hard
to localize/ picture where it is? Is it the same as the other side?

That tells us something important.

If you’ve left medical appointments feeling dismissed or rushed, it’s reasonable to question whether that relationship is the right fit.

At the same time, the fear of finding someone new is real.

You may need care quickly.

You may need things like medication support.

You may need someone in place when flares happen.

All of that makes sense.

But this still stands:
You are worth someone taking the time to learn your story.
You are worth care that is specific to you.
You are worth a plan that looks forward, not one that asks you to simply endure.

Care should feel collaborative. Not dismissive.
