New research suggests that engaging in regular strength training can significantly reduce biological aging. A study concluded that lifting weights three times a week may help reduce a person's biological age by about eight years. The study analyzed the impact of weight training on aging in nearly 5,000 men and women between the ages of 20 to 69, specifically examining the effects of weight training on the body and the length of telomeres.

Think back: in 1994, older adults were seen as a burden, with warnings of a looming healthcare crisis. Now, in 2024, we see this population differently — as vital contributors to our economy, caregivers, volunteers, and pillars of society. What changed? One word: Knowledge.

The difference between a successful approach and an outdated one is understanding the needs, preferences, shifting expectations, and strengths of an evolving older population. That’s what the ICAA Conference & Expo provides: the insights, foresight, and practical knowledge needed to build better environments, create inclusive policies, and design wellness programs and marketing that resonate.

I invite you to bring your team, your visionaries, and your decision-makers to the ICAA Conference & Expo, November 19–21 in Raleigh, NC, and gain the knowledge to excel today and stay ahead tomorrow.
