New things coming to Invicta Osteopathy!
A good practitioner should never think they know everything, but rather understand that they are students for life 🤓📚
The way Invicta Osteopathy approaches treatment and rehab is definitely evolving as I dive into my own personal journey of recovery.
I have been an avid athlete for my entire life, obsessed with so many different sports and activities. While definitely an amateur athlete, I have still experienced my fair share of injuries including a broken leg, busted shoulder, sprained neck, and the general injuries that come from being tossed around like a rag doll falling off my bike or down a ski mountain 🤕. Although these are all older injuries, I have noticed (as I get older 🤦🏼♀️) that these injuries must still be lingering as my body just does not work the way it’s meant to. I am not always in a lot of pain, but my body struggles to run, jump, and move the way it used to. It would be easy to assume this was just part of aging and resign myself to being ‘too old’ for certain sports or activities; however, I am too stubborn to accept that!
As an osteopath and a keen believer in alternative therapies, I have been to see many osteopaths, acupuncturists, and physios that I greatly respect. Nothing has been able to address the grittiness of my injury history and improve how my body moves, so I have deep dived down a wormhole of biomechanics and rehab to better understand how I can fix myself. I have learned such amazing things thanks to , , , , and others. Naturally I have started to apply my new knowledge and skills into my practice to better help my patients, and the results have been awesome!
