A journaling club? Yes, please
One of the things I’m looking forward to building is a journaling club. Not a club in the usual sense, with exclusivity or rules about who belongs. More a gathering of people who nerd out over writing, stationery, pens, paper, and the joy of putting thoughts somewhere outside our own heads.
Imagine getting together somewhere with a cool vibe, a good playlist, and a little space away from the distractions of home. A place where we can play with words, explore ideas, and see what happens when we give ourselves permission to write.
I love the idea of taking a single word or a ridiculous question and using it as a starting point. Something that might seem completely meaningless at first could lead you somewhere unexpected. You might discover something about yourself, follow an idea down a rabbit hole, or simply enjoy seeing where your thoughts take you.
And it doesn’t have to stop with writing.
What if we experimented with collage, drawing, colour, and different ways of expressing ourselves? What if our journals became more than books filled with words?
Some people might believe a journal should only be written in. I see it differently. Your journal can be whatever you need it to be. It can be messy, colourful, thoughtful, funny, serious, or completely ridiculous.
For me, journaling is a way of building a relationship with myself. And I think that relationship can be an art form.
I’ve been writing this way for what feels like my entire life, and I want to share that experience with others. I want to meet people who enjoy exploring their inner worlds, experimenting with expression, and discovering what happens when they give themselves permission to play.
So that’s what I’m imagining: a space to write, create, experiment, and connect.
No pressure to be a writer. No expectation to produce something profound. Just bring yourself, your curiosity, and whatever you like to write with.
Let’s see what we can create together.
