Apple c***r vinegar is easy to make and so rewarding at the end of it all. And by using apple scraps, you can save yourself a ton of money while turning something that might otherwise be thrown away into something incredibly useful.
I love making big batches of apple c***r vinegar, especially because I use it so much throughout the year.
I know where our apples came from.
I know what went into the jar.
Once it’s ready, our ACV finds its way into so many things such as homemade salad dressings, marinades, sauces, herbal preparations, fire c***r and our favourite kitchen recipes. It’s one of those humble pantry staples that I always want to have on hand.
Nothing fancy. Super simple. Just do it!

Valerian Root - Valeriana officinalis
The shovel hits the soil and up comes valerian root, there is no mistaking the earthy, pungent aroma.
Unlike the thick, knobby roots of comfrey or the sturdy, branching roots of elecampane, valerian comes out of the soil looking completely different, a tangled mass of fine, hair-like roots, like a little mop head or a bundle of spaghetti.
Valerian is a perennial herb that can self seed, and traditionally the roots are harvested in the fall, often from plants that are at least two years old. A first frost is also considered a good time to harvest.
I love working with valerian root for tea blends and tinctures. It is a potent herb with a long history of use. I use the leaves in the summer for teas.
Interestingly, valerian has been used not only as a herbal remedy, but historically even as a perfume. During the Middle Ages, it was valued for both purposes.
Today, valerian is best known for its traditional use as a relaxing and calming herb, particularly in evening herbal preparations. But herbs can affect people differently, and valerian may actually feel stimulating or have the opposite effect for some people.
I have harvested, cleaned and dried my valerian root at 95F in a dehydrator for at least 24 hours or until they break easily.

So much of training is learning to move past the mental process.
The body says, “I can.”
The mind says, “That’s too heavy.”
“I’m tired.”
“I can’t.”
And then you have a choice.
Listen to the limitation or take one more step.
Can I stay present when something feels difficult?
Can I push through the doubt?
Can I trust myself enough to try?
Training teaches us that the biggest obstacle is often the story we tell ourselves before we even begin.
Move past the doubt.
Move past the fear.
Move past the voice that says you can’t.
And discover what’s waiting on the other side.
You are often capable of far more than your mind has allowed you to believe.

A fresh regrowth of nettle + 30 self seeded baby kale plants 😲 … and suddenly my intentions of cutting dead raspberry canes went right out the window.
Instead, the harvest began!
I threw together potatoes, sautéed onions, garlic and fresh rosemary, then added a big basket of those beautiful greens to let everything meld together. Once wilted, it all went in with the cooked potatoes, finished with a little coconut milk, oh my goodness, you guys… NEXT LEVEL delish!
It’s easy, fresh, delicious and such a beautiful colour. Not to mention, packed with chlorophyll and plant goodness.
And don’t forget the lemon! It’s the must have topper that brings everything together with that perfect little brightness.
The perfect meal for a cool, crisp day and we are gobbling this one up today for sure! Don’t be afraid to try new things, create a new recipe, be creative!

Seize the day… and the last harvests of the season.
As the earth prepares to rest for winter, so do the roses. The bush will take one final sigh, retreat into stillness, and hibernate until spring.
We’re gathering and carefully storing these last dried rose petals in large glass jars, while replacing the trays with fresh petals for one final round of drying.
These beautiful roses will become part of our garden fresh tea blends, as well as our rose powder, which we add to our Chocolate Rose Coconut Latte, Rosa Maya.
Consciously harvested.
Garden grown.
Divine in taste.
Curious what we do with all those beautiful rose petals?
We have a reel showing how we turn our dried roses into rose powder, you can find it in our Reels and watch the process from garden to jar.

Do we always have to break the body into pieces?
Biceps. Triceps. Chest. Back. Legs. Core.
What if sometimes we stopped thinking about the body as isolated parts and started training it as the whole system that it is?
The feet connect to the ground.
The legs stabilize.
The core activates.
The shoulders and arms move.
The spine responds.
The weighted ball at the top of the mace creates an unpredictable pull, challenging the stabilizers to respond and adapt.
As you move, you begin to discover muscles you may not have even known you had, muscles that have been quiet, underused or overlooked, suddenly coming to life.
Especially when the mace swings behind the head, you can feel the postural muscles awaken. The muscles along the spine, shoulders and upper back begin working together to keep you balanced, aligned and connected.
But that connection doesn’t happen all at once.
At first, the movement may feel unfamiliar. Your timing may be off. Your coordination may feel uncertain. But with practice, your body begins to learn.
You start trusting your timing.
You start trusting your coordination.
You start trusting your body to respond.
Over time, the movement becomes less about controlling every detail and more about listening, adapting and staying connected.
And the breath ties it all together.
I often think about an egg.
A hard shell on the outside, but soft and unstable on the inside.
We can build strong muscles on the outside, but what happens if we don’t build the foundation underneath?
How do we build from the inside out?
Through connection. Stability. Breath. Balance. Coordination. Whole body movement.
And maybe healing works the same way.
We don’t heal in isolated pieces. Our physical body, nervous system, emotions, breath and mind are all communicating with one another.
Your workout doesn’t have to be an isolated experience either.
A powerful movement is the kind that asks the whole body to work together and helps you discover strength in places you didn’t know were there.
Move as a whole.
Breathe as a whole.
Heal as a whole.
Build from the inside out.
