Recently, someone asked me (Dr. Alexis) what my MSCP designation means, and why practitioners feel it's something to celebrate.
MSCP stands for Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. It recognizes healthcare professionals who have met The Menopause Society's certification requirements in menopause care.
Why does this matter?
Because menopause care is continually evolving, and women deserve healthcare providers who understand the science behind it.
MSCP practitioners have studied the scientific evidence supporting current menopause care, including research surrounding treatment options, symptom management, and the long-term health considerations of the menopause transition.
As a naturopathic doctor with my MSCP designation, I value the commitment to ongoing learning and staying informed about the evidence that can help guide individualized care.
For me, this represents a commitment to knowledge, evidence-informed practice, and helping women make informed decisions about their health.
Too many women have felt dismissed, misunderstood, or left to navigate perimenopause and menopause alone. We can do better.
Let's keep the conversation going and remind women that their symptoms deserve to be heard, questions deserve thoughtful answers, and care deserves to be informed by the best available evidence.
Every woman deserves to feel informed, supported, and empowered through menopause.
