September comes in hot. New routines, new schedules, appointments, activities, school expectations, and the pressure to somehow keep it all together.
And then October hits. The adrenaline wears off, the exhaustion catches up, and suddenly everything feels like too much.
For neurodivergent parents and parents raising neurodivergent kids, this cycle can be especially overwhelming.
It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to be frustrated. It’s okay to admit you’re struggling.
Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is stop, breathe, and name what you’re feeling.
“I’m tired.”
“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I’m overstimulated.”
“I need a break.”
You don’t have to justify your emotions for them to be valid.
You can love your kids fiercely and still feel completely depleted by the demands of parenting.
If October has you running on empty, you’re not alone. ❤️
