Have you ever felt like you were trying to fix one thing after another?

Something for sleep.
Something for energy.
Something for bloating.
Something for cravings.

The problem is that your body does not work in separate pieces.

Poor sleep can affect cravings. Stress can affect digestion. Hormone changes can affect sleep and weight. Low protein can affect energy.

That is why I believe in looking at the bigger picture instead of chasing one symptom at a time.

In my newest article, I explain the difference between symptom chasing and root cause wellness, and why a more wholistic approach can help you find a clearer place to begin.

Read the full article on my website.

If several symptoms seem to be showing up at once, my free 5-minute Health Evaluation can also help you identify your top areas of concern.

New on the blog:

Why it is not recommended to rely on AI for medical advice.

AI can be helpful for organizing questions or learning general wellness terms, but it should not replace your doctor, pharmacist, or qualified healthcare provider.

In this article, I explain the difference between general wellness information, medical advice, and the role of a non-diagnostic Health Evaluation.

Occasional bloating can happen.

Frequent bloating may be worth looking at more closely.

Possible contributors can include eating quickly, large meals, certain foods, digestive changes, constipation, stress or other underlying concerns.

The goal is not to guess based on one symptom.

It is to notice when it happens, what you ate, how quickly you ate and whether other signals are showing up too.

Persistent, painful or worsening bloating should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.

From my summer garden to the Thanksgiving table. 🍂

My parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme are so abundant right now, so I’m dehydrating them to create a homemade Thanksgiving herb blend I can enjoy for months to come.

Once completely dry, I crumble the herbs separately and combine:

🌿 4 parts parsley
🌿 2 parts sage
🌿 2 parts thyme
🌿 1 part rosemary

It’s delicious with turkey, chicken, stuffing, soups, potatoes and roasted vegetables. I leave out the salt so I can season each dish separately.

For me, realistic wellness includes preparing simple ingredients now to make nourishing, flavourful meals easier later. Healthy eating is much easier to maintain when the food tastes good!

Save this recipe for your herb harvest. Do you make your own seasoning blends?

Before chasing the next wellness trend, cleanse, diet, or quick fix, we believe the best place to start is the foundation.

This is one of the core lessons we value from Dr. Joel Wallach’s teachings.

Just like a house needs a strong foundation, the body needs foundational support too.

Energy, digestion, sleep, cravings, hormones, weight, and overall wellness are all connected.

When the foundation is weak, everything can feel harder.

At Lilly’s Wholistic Wellness, we help people look at the whole body instead of focusing on one symptom at a time.

Sometimes the first step is not doing more.

Sometimes the first step is giving the body what it may be missing. 🌿
