We’ve been taught to expect certain things as we get older. But what if aging well means we don’t have to simply accept feeling worse? That question changed the way I started looking at wellness.
What do you think?

Sometimes we get so used to how we feel that we stop questioning it. We call it stress, being busy, or simply getting older.

But what if we don’t have to accept every change as “just normal”? That question changed the direction of my wellness journey.

Have you ever wondered the same thing?

You don’t have to wait until life slows down to start enjoying it.

I’ve caught myself thinking, “I’ll have more time for that when things settle down.”

But life doesn’t always settle down.

There will always be work to do, people who need us, dishes in the sink, things on the list and something else waiting around the corner.

I don’t want to spend so much time trying to get everything done that I forget to actually enjoy the life I’m building.

The walk. The conversation. The garden. The laughter. The little things that don’t necessarily make it onto the to-do list.

Maybe thriving isn’t about finally getting everything under control.

Maybe it’s learning to be present for the life that’s happening right now.

What is one thing in your life right now that you don’t want to be too busy to enjoy?

I had heard of plenty of wellness approaches, but wearable phototherapy was not one of them.

When I first encountered it, I had questions too.
- What is it?
- How does it fit into a wellness routine?
- Why are people interested in it?

I’m still learning, and I’m sharing what I’m discovering along the way.
Have you ever heard of wearable phototherapy?

We can get so used to putting ourselves last that we don’t even notice we’re doing it anymore.

Taking care of yourself doesn’t mean you care less about your family, your work, or the people you love.
YOU MATTER TOO.

And you don’t have to wait until you’re completely depleted before you decide you’re worth taking care of.

Where do you tend to put yourself last?

How often do we explain away how we’re feeling because we already have an answer that seems to make sense?

•Busy. •Stressed. •Didn’t sleep enough. •Getting older. •Too much going on.

Sometimes those things really are part of the picture. But I’ve become more interested in noticing patterns instead of automatically dismissing them.

Not diagnosing. Not assuming something is wrong. Just paying attention.

When do you feel your best? When do you feel most depleted? What keeps showing up? And what have you started calling “normal”?

What have you noticed lately?

Do you ever miss being a kid?
Not the homework. Not the early bedtime. Not having someone tell you to clean your room.

I mean that feeling of having energy for life. Being curious.
Going outside just because it was a beautiful day.
Getting excited about something small.

I think somewhere along the way, many of us become so focused on being productive and taking care of everyone else that we forget what it feels like to simply enjoy being here.

And I don’t want to believe that growing older automatically means becoming more tired, more limited, or less present. I want to keep finding ways to thrive in the life I’m living now.

What do you miss most about being a kid?

• You are allowed to take care of yourself before everything else is done.
• You are allowed to want more energy, more joy, and more time to actually enjoy the life you’re building.
• Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s part of taking care of the life you love.

You don’t have to earn it.

When I used to teach Food & Nutrition, I wasn’t interested in making nutrition another list of rules people had to follow perfectly.

I wanted to talk about how food fits into real life. I feel the same way about wellness.

If your “healthy lifestyle” is so complicated that it becomes another source of stress, is it really supporting you?

I think there’s something powerful about finding simple ways to care for yourself that actually fit the life you’re living.

What would wellness look like for you if it didn’t have to be perfect?

I used to go all in on January goals, then hit December wondering why none of them happened. After enough disappointment, I stopped setting goals altogether… and ended up having one of my most unproductive years. What I realized is that vision wasn’t my problem — structure was. This year I’m setting yearly goals, then breaking them into 3-month focus and monthly action, and it’s made consistency feel doable instead of overwhelming. Seeing how my daily effort connects to the bigger picture has been a game changer.
