What makes myofascial release different? 🤔
Most people think of massage as oil and long, gliding strokes. Myofascial release works differently.
Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps and links every muscle, bone, and organ in your body. When it gets tight from injury, surgery, stress, or posture, it can pull on areas far from where you feel the pain.
Here’s how myofascial is different:
✨ Little to no oil, so we can grip and stretch the tissue instead of sliding over it
✨ Slow, sustained pressure, holding each area until the tissue softens and releases
✨ Whole-body thinking: neck pain might start in your shoulder, ribs, or even your hips
✨ You stay involved. We may ask you to breathe or move as the tissue lets go
It’s especially helpful for chronic tension, restricted movement, scar tissue, and pain that keeps coming back no matter how many massages you’ve had.
Good news: it’s done by our Registered Massage Therapists, so it’s covered under your massage benefits. 💛
