WHAT IS AFibra™ SMART?

AFibra™ SMART checks the regularity of your pulse while your Prolife monitor inflates the cuff — so you get insight into your heart rhythm as part of every normal blood pressure reading, with no extra steps.

High blood pressure and atrial fibrillation (AF) are both major risk factors for stroke. According to the Stroke Association, AF contributes to around 1 in 5 strokes in the UK and can increase stroke risk fivefold. It can also occur without noticeable symptoms. Checking for signs of AF during your usual blood pressure measurement can help flag a heart rhythm.

How it works: If AFibra™ SMART detects a pattern that may be associated with atrial fibrillation, an indicator appears directly on the display. If it appears repeatedly, follow the instructions for use and speak with your GP.
