New Evidence for Two-Piece Zirconia Implants – Clinical Data from Daily Practice with Up to 7 Years of Follow-Up

I am very pleased and honored to announce the publication of our study “Two-Piece Zirconia Implants: An Office-Based Retrospective Study with Up to 7 Years and a Mean of 3 Years of Follow-Up”
in the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants JOMI.

To the best of our knowledge, this is the first scientific study worldwide to examine two-piece, screw-retained, and prosthetically reversible zirconia implants with a follow-up of up to seven years under real-world conditions in a private dental practice. In this study, the Zeramex XT and Nobel Pearl implants from our private practice in Kilchberg has been analyzed. The results are impressive:

• 167 implants in 106 patients
• 98.2% implant survival rate
• Stable peri-implant tissue conditions

The survival rate of 98.2% is thus comparable to the results reported for established titanium implants.

This represents another important step forward for ceramic implantology. In addition to controlled clinical trials, we particularly need data on how modern ceramic implants perform under the conditions of daily clinical practice and over longer follow-up periods.

250 Mediziner und Therapeuten auf dem SSAAMP Kongress! Ein grosser Erfolg! Ich sprach über ein Thema sprechen, das in der integrativen Zahnmedizin immer wieder kontrovers diskutiert wird: „Der tote Zahn – Fakten und Mythen“.

Im Fokus standen die wissenschaftliche Einordnung wurzelbehandelter Zähne, mögliche immunologische Zusammenhänge, moderne Diagnostik und die Frage, wann Zahnentfernung, Erhalt, Revision, Wurzelspitzenresektion oder Implantatversorgung sinnvoll sein können… insbesondere bei chronisch erkranten Patienten

Wichtig bleibt: Nicht Ideologie, sondern individuelle Diagnostik, Evidenz und ein ganzheitlicher Blick auf den Menschen sollten die Therapieentscheidung leiten.
