We are delighted to welcome Christina Demetriou, Psychologist and Occupational Therapist, to our team!

Christina Demetriou is a Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, whose professional work focuses on supporting children and adolescents.

She has a particular interest in early intervention and prevention, aiming to identify and address difficulties at an early stage while promoting children’s emotional and psychosocial development.

She strongly believes in the importance of meaningful collaboration between families, schools, and professionals, recognizing that a shared approach and the active involvement of all those concerned are essential for providing holistic, individualised, and effective interventions.

We are delighted to welcome Andria Vorka Christofi, Occupational Therapist, to our team!

Andria Vorka Christofi is an Occupational Therapist and a graduate of the University of West Attica. She provides assessments and individualised occupational therapy interventions for children and adults, aiming to enhance functionality, participation, and independence in everyday life.

Through play, meaningful activities, and targeted therapeutic interventions, occupational therapy can support the development of fine and gross motor skills, motor coordination, sensory processing and regulation, attention, organisation, and daily living skills. The goal is to help individuals apply the skills developed during therapy to real-life situations, enhancing their participation at home, at school, during play, and within their social environment.

Each therapeutic intervention is tailored to the individual's needs, abilities, and goals, in collaboration with the family and, where appropriate, other healthcare and education professionals.

Committed to continuous professional development and staying up to date with contemporary occupational therapy approaches, Andria has attended seminars on sensory processing and organisation, praxis, motor clumsiness and dyspraxia, autism and play, as well as anxiety and arousal support and management. In addition, she has received training in Greek Sign Language, further enriching the communication and accessibility tools she can incorporate into her professional practice.

We are delighted to welcome Alexandros Violaris, Speech Therapist, to the Balance Rehab Park family!

Alexandros Violaris is a graduate of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at European University Cyprus and a registered member of the Cyprus Association of Registered Speech-Language Pathologists (Registration No. 1126). During his studies, he completed clinical placements with both paediatric and adult populations, gaining experience in assessment, the development of individualised treatment plans, and the delivery of speech and language therapy sessions.

Throughout his clinical training, he worked with cases involving language, articulation and phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, learning difficulties, feeding and swallowing disorders, hearing impairment, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He also gained experience working with adults presenting with aphasia, dysphagia, dysarthria, voice disorders, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, acquired brain injuries, and neurodegenerative conditions.

Committed to continuous professional development and staying up to date with contemporary speech and language therapy practices, Alexandros has attended conferences and training programmes focusing on child language development, phoniatrics, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition, he participated in the European Blended Intensive Programme – Diversity & Social Inclusion (Erasmus+), focusing on diversity and social inclusion.
