Life this last week has been both beautiful and brutal.🖤
I celebrated the birth of my Finn, now 15 years strong and more incredible than ever. He’s my last-born child, and quite clearly no longer a baby, but he will always be my baby.
In almost the same breath as I wished him strength, love, and prosperity, I was left breathless by the passing of one of my dearest, best friends, who was tragically and suddenly taken from us in what feels like a cruel act of life.
And all the while, the storms raged along the Cornish coast, cutting power, felling trees, and creating chaos, but then also bringing beautiful waves to Falmouth.
This dichotomous relationship that is so ever-present in life can often bring me to my knees. But at the same time it reminds us of the true ebb and flow of life, where everything exists in a moment. The ‘good’ and the ‘bad’. The light and the dark. The pleasure and the pain. The very substance of life is that it is temporary. Fleeting. It sits on a knife’s edge and can turn at any moment.
All we can do is be present to it all. Be in it. Be completely and unwaveringly a part of each moment that we get to experience and know that it can never last forever. Say the ‘I love yous’, share the hugs, be honest, be clear, do what has meaning and value. It’s all going to pass, this we know.
Sending love to your beautiful heart with whatever you might be navigating right now.🤍✨
