This visit was something really special to me. ❤️
Back in 2011, when I was still a clueless little piercer, I met Ron at my first ever conference. I was already a huge fan of his work, and his scarification seminar taught me one of the most valuable lessons of my career: I simply wasn’t skilled enough to offer scarification yet. That lesson has stayed with me ever since.
A few years later, Ron moved to Berlin, we became friends, and around 2014 I started working with scarification myself. Ron has supported me ever since, and I genuinely wouldn’t be where I am today without his knowledge, help and friendship.
When he moved back to California, I thought we might eventually lose touch. Well… I was very wrong. 😂 Visiting Ron after APP Conference became a tradition, and now, years later, he finally came to visit my studio.
Having him there yesterday honestly felt a bit surreal. Ron joined me for three body modification appointments and took some absolutely amazing pictures.
That guy is a walking, talking legend. Many newer piercers probably don’t realize how much he did over 30 years ago to help shape our industry and community.

Already looking forward to seeing you again — next time in California. And I definitely need to see what you’ve done with the studio since my last visit… which must be at least 8 years ago.
