For Jana, breast cancer has been part of her family story since she was eleven.

Years after losing her mother to the disease, Jana received her own diagnosis. As a mother of two daughters, one thought became especially important: what could this mean for them?

Both daughters decided to get tested for the BRCA2 gene variant. Their negative results were, in Jana’s words, “the greatest gift.”

Now 22, she has already been through a mastectomy, several surgeries and a diagnosis of Li-Fraumeni syndrome.
