A highly successful pulmonary valve implantation workshop was conducted by Lida Medical at Smouha Pediatric University Hospital مستشفى سموحة الجامعي لطب وجراحة الاطفال with 5 pulmonary valve implantation cases successfully completed using the state of art .

This workshop represents an important step forward in expanding access to advanced transcatheter pulmonary valve therapies and further strengthening the expertise of the local cardiac team.

A special thank you to Prof. Ziyad Hijazi for his outstanding mentorship, guidance, and contribution throughout the workshop. His expertise and dedication continue to inspire and support the development of advanced structural heart interventions.

A new milestone in advanced cardiac care at مستشفى سموحة الجامعي لطب وجراحة الاطفال 👏

Lida Medical is proud to announce the successful completion of 5 trans catheter pulmonary valve implantation cases, marking another step forward in delivering cutting edge, life-saving therapies using the for patients with complex congenital heart disease.

These procedures were performed using transcatheter techniques, offering a minimally invasive alternative to repeated open-heart surgeries and reducing risk, shortening recovery time, and significantly improving patients outcomes.

The Workshop was held and operated by prof. Hani Adel and the multidisciplinary team from interventional cardiology to anesthesia, nursing, and technical support under the supervision and mentoring of the iconic structural heart figure prof. Ziyad Hijazi and the management of prof. Reham Wagdy and under the generous support of Egyptian Cure Bank - بنك الشفاء المصرى

For the first time at Mabarra Heart Academy مستشفى مبرة مصر القديمة, a Percutaneous Pulmonary Valve Implantation case has been done using the state of art that is exclusively distributed in Egypt by Lida Medical.
This achievement was accomplished by the hands of Egyptian professional Professors, prof. Rasha Ammar, prof. Muhammad Sabry, prof. Ahmed Alsawah and the highly skilled team of the hospital under the mentoring of the one & only prof. Ziyad hijazi.

A milestone worth celebrating 👏

Today Lida Medical proudly shares the success of a highly challenging pulmonary valve implantation case using the state of art performed independently for the very first time by our newest Proctor to be Dr. Amira Nour with the presence of Dr. Ahmed Elsayed.

The case presented a complex anatomy and significant technical difficulties where a 54 yrs old male, DM, s/p ASD surgical closure and pulmonary valvotomy 50 yrs ago, Markedly Dilated RV with impaired functions and dilated MPA with sever Pulmonary Regurgitation undergone a Pulmonary Valve implantation procedure where the Balloon sizing result was 36-38 mm while the PV Annulus was 36mm.

Despite the challenges, the procedure was completed successfully with excellent hemodynamic results and optimal valve positioning after using size 36mm.

“We put a valve exactly at the size” said Dr. Amira

This achievement is more than just a successful intervention, it reflects the doctor’s dedication, advanced technical skills, sound clinical judgment, and the high standard of training within the team.
