"Our budget's been cut." "No one wants to join the study." Right there, in the middle of the workshop 🙃

30 people stepped into researchers' shoes at our workshop during European Researchers' Night, at CosmoCaixa.

Their mission: design a study to improve life for people living with liver cancer.

And they ended up learning something they didn't expect: the people living with the disease are the ones who truly know what matters most.

This is how LIVERATION's recruitment is distributed across the hospitals in the network. Each bar in this chart is a hospital.

And behind every bar are patients who have chosen to take part in this liver cancer research. They are the ones who move the trial forward, patient by patient.

400 patients. LIVERATION is picking up speed.

400 patients randomised in the LIVERATION clinical trial. A milestone that speaks for itself!

From 350 in June to 400 in the heart of summer — a sign that the trial has found its rhythm, that the hospital network is working, and that patients continue to place their trust in this research.

LIVERATION has just reached a new milestone: 350 patients randomised, halfway towards the trial's total recruitment target.

Thank you to each and every patient who has decided to be part of this project. Without them, none of this would be possible.

And what comes next is equally relevant: in approximately five months, we expect to have the first interim results of the trial.

Today, LIVERATION is taking part in the 13th Conference of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation in Spain, organised by CDTI alongside the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the European Commission and Acció.

We are sharing the progress of our clinical trial with the European research and innovation community, through the poster exhibition for projects funded by Horizon Europe.

David Alcántara is representing the project at this event, held at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya.
