The cuboid may be small, but it plays an important role in how the foot moves and distributes force.
Together with the surrounding joints, it helps the foot adapt smoothly during inversion, eversion, walking and running.
After an ankle sprain or other trauma to the foot, the cuboid can sometimes lose part of its normal mobility. When the lateral side of the foot no longer moves as it should, the body may begin to compensate — potentially affecting the ankle, knee, hip and even the lower back.
That is why we always assess the whole movement chain. When indicated, a precise cuboid adjustment can be an important piece of restoring better movement and function. 🦶
