Your breath is the remote control for your nervous system — most people just never learned how to use it. This self-paced, 4-week program gives you the foundation of breathing: the mechanics of how you breathe, and the essential techniques to calm down, energize, focus, balance, and sleep. Rooted in yogic tradition and grounded in modern functional-breathing science, you’ll learn to regulate and calibrate your nervous system through your breath alone. Delivered through guided video, immersive audio journeys, and a companion PDF guide — this isn’t a course you finish. It’s a practice you carry for life. Launch price is €97 through October 11th. After that it goes to €147. Sign up here: https://rafaelstrobosch.com/breathwork-course

The Sunday Swim. Yesterday I was out on a walk, remembering a peak experience I had six months ago in the mountains here on the island. Psychedelics were involved.

I could relive the ecstasy of that moment on every level. In my head, in my heart, in my gut. The same awe and rapture that was with me during that experience came alive inside me as if it were happening right then. It flooded my body and soul with the most incredible neurochemistry.

For better or worse, we can choose to go places. We can close our eyes and travel to where we’ve already been. Once bliss has been accessed, we can almost bring it back on command.

Again: not to live in the past, not to bypass a sh*tty present moment. But to open ourselves to a more expanded and unified perception of the world.

Part of it has been feeling groundless. Part of it has been feeling like I’m shedding snake skin. Lots of questions about belonging — finding the balance between belonging to myself and being part of something larger than me.

When I get lost, my ego gets loud. The identification with I and me gets worse, and I sink deeper into the hole. But the hole is the pain teacher. Down there I get reminded of what matters to me, what I actually care about, where I’m heading.

Sometimes you don’t climb out of the hole. You come out the other side.

And grief is always the first move. I’m still learning to let it be the first one rather than the last thing I get to.

Anyway — here are some reflections that have come my way lately.

We often walk away from the version of ourselves that is most desirable — the one that’s 10% more free, more alive, more courageous. More flirtatious with life. More honest.
We wait, usually without noticing we’re waiting, for the perfect conditions before we let ourselves become that person: to meet life more fully, to express ourselves more authentically.
There’s an enormous amount of unfelt grief in that waiting. In standby mode. In not fully inhabiting what we know is our birthright. In whispering our song when we know the words to sing it.
Unfelt grief doesn’t stay still. Left alone, it curdles — into depression, into a quiet resentment toward ourselves for the life we’re not living. Eventually it becomes a voice that bypasses the heart entirely, one that tries to think us harshly into equilibrium, instead of letting us feel the ground and step forward.
This poem is about turning hope, a longing, into power rather than into despair. It’s about turning something external to myself into something that wants to live from within. Yesterday, as I was sitting on the beach, I caught myself thinking the words: ‘I need to find it here too’. I turned that into ‘I can find it here too’. And that is how the poem was born.

Happy eclipse,

Raf
