Gout is no longer the disease of the ancient monarch resting its arrogance on a plush velvet cushion.

Today, it’s a painful reality for millions. It’s a severe inflammatory arthritis where excess uric acid forms sharp crystals in the joints, triggering sudden, agonizing flare-ups.

But the way we treat it is changing. SAP-001 is an innovative therapeutic approach designed to tackle the root of the problem, lowering uric acid levels to dissolve those crystals and bring real, lasting relief to patients.

When Shanton Pharma came to us to explain how SAP-001 works, we knew the science needed to be as clear and impactful as the treatment itself.

That’s why our team at 3DforScience - Global Scientific Communications got to work creating a custom 3D MoA video. We wanted to visually break down the complex molecular journey of the drug, and we’re thrilled with how it turned out!

Kidney disease is a journey. It's messy, exhausting, isolating, and sometimes devastating. Worse still, it's profoundly misunderstood.

1 in 10 people worldwide are living with kidney disease, and up to 90% don't even know they have it.
With few early warning signs, kidney disease creeps up silently and turns lives upside down.

We created this quick 3D journey inside one of the most important organs of the human body so we could understand the healthy baseline, the pathology and the clinical impact of the kidney failure condition.

Visualize the anatomy. Understand the illness. Learn the science.

Can a severed nerve ever work again?

When a nerve is injured, it disrupts a person’s ability to feel, move, and connect with the world. But the body has an incredible capacity to heal when given the right support.

These are a few seconds from an animation we developed for Axogen, showing how a biologically engineered nerve graft preserves the natural architecture that guides regenerating axons back to their target.

Sometimes innovation isn’t about replacing biology.
It’s about giving it the structure it needs to heal.

None of this would be possible without true partnership. A heartfelt thank you to Nicole Korb, MBA, and Anna Lane at Axogen. Nicole's product vision as Senior Product Manager of Downstream Marketing and Anna's strategic leadership as Senior Director of Marketing Communications were essential in translating complex science into a meaningful story of recovery.

We often talk about the future of eye care as if it’s years away. But for some patients with advanced retinal disease, that future is already here. Let me show you how.

Last month, researchers shared incredible 3-year data on a new therapy for conditions like retinitis pigmentosa. Instead of trying to fix a specific broken gene, this approach does something beautifully simple: it teaches the healthy cells right next to the damaged ones how to sense light again.
For patients who haven't seen clearly in years, this means real-world moments.

We created this short 3D visualization of the eye to help make these therapies easy to understand. Whether you are explaining a new treatment to a patient or aligning with healthcare stakeholders, seeing it clearly makes a real difference in daily clinical practice.

Great surgical innovation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens when surgeons and engineers work side by side to solve real challenges in the OR.

We’re thrilled to share a new video we created alongside our friends at Mariner Endosurgery, bringing their latest innovation, SuturePro, to life.

None of this would be possible without the incredible team at Mariner Endosurgery. Thank you for trusting us with your story and for your shared commitment to better surgical outcomes:

👨‍⚕️ Dr. Charan Donkor, M.D, F.A.C.S, for your surgical vision and co-inventor leadership.

💼 Mike Daniels, for your steady guidance and leadersh

⚙️ Alan Sawula, for driving the engineering and product development.

🔬 Bryan Piper, PhD, for your exceptional biomedical design expertise.

Take a look at the video below to see how SuturePro is designed to streamline mesh fixation and reduce operative time in ventral hernia repair.

We love partnering with teams that prioritize real, practical utility for clinical professionals. Here’s to the power of collaboration and making a tangible difference in patient care.

1 in 3 ER+ breast cancers will metastasize. Until recently, we were finding them basically blind. Here's what changed 👇

CERIANNA™ by GE HealthCare is a radiopharmaceutical designed to mimic estrogen and specifically bind to Estrogen Receptors (ER) on cancer cells.

When injected into a patient, CERIANNA travels through the entire body and "sticks" to any ER+ breast cancer cell it encounters. Whether it's the original tumour in the breast or hidden metastases in the bones, the liver, or other organs.

Then the scan happens. And those lesions light up.

The animation below is our work for GE Healthcare: translating the molecular journey of CERIANNA into a narrative that clinicians, researchers, and patients can understand and feel at first glance.

A huge thank-you to Tory Terrill and the entire team at GE HealthCare for trusting us with this project and making the collaboration so seamless from day one. Working alongside people who are this passionate about changing the landscape of breast cancer imaging is exactly why we do what we do.

Our colleague Jorge Quirós Fernández shared this hand snapshot from his desk.

With Augmented Reality, we can turn this simple photo into an interactive anatomical lesson, revealing the complex machinery of tendons and bones hiding just beneath the skin.

Technology like AR, VR, and 3D animation isn't just about creating "cool" visuals. It allows us to see the amazing science behind our everyday lives.

You can read a 50-page manual on the Fresenius Kabi V-cuff, or you can watch it adapt to the airway in 3D for 30 seconds. 🎬

When it comes to complex airway mechanics, reading about it is one thing... seeing it is a completely different experience.

For decades, traditional cylindrical endotracheal cuffs have been the standard. But because the human trachea isn't a perfect cylinder, these cuffs often struggle to adapt, leading to uneven pressure distribution, mucosal damage, and the risk of micro-aspiration.

In our latest 3D medical animation, we visualize the biomechanics behind the innovative design of the V-cuff’s unique geometry, which provides a superior seal at lower pressures, protecting the tracheal tissue and helping to safeguard the lungs during intubation and ventilation.

How relieved would you feel if you could avoid dialysis?

For millions living with Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD), this isn’t just a hypothetical question. It’s the goal.

We had the privilege of partnering with Mironid® Limited to bring their novel therapy to life through 3D visual storytelling.

Why does this matter? Because understanding how a treatment works is key to trusting it. We translated the complex science behind Mironid’s small-molecule therapeutics, specifically their approach to allosteric modulation of PDE4 enzymes, into a clear and accessible narrative.

This animation helps HCPs and patients visualize exactly how targeting the central signaling mechanism can slow cyst growth and potentially change the disease trajectory .

How do you use visual tools to simplify complex mechanisms for your peers or patients?
