Correction of Lip Asymmetry 💋
Lip asymmetry can stem from natural anatomical features, uneven tissue volume, or differences in the shape of the lip contours.
When performing a correction using a hyaluronic acid filler, the procedure involves assessing lip proportions, the integrity of the vermilion border, the shape of the Cupid’s bow, and the distribution of tissue volume.
The goal is to visually balance the lip proportions, enhance the definition of the contours, and preserve the natural anatomy.
Every case is unique; therefore, the correction plan is tailored to the individual’s initial lip structure and tissue characteristics. While significant asymmetry can often be reduced, it is not always possible to eliminate it entirely.
Sometimes, attempting to correct one side by adding a larger amount of filler can disrupt the overall proportions of the lips. Consequently, it is essential to evaluate not only the asymmetry itself but also the extent to which it can be corrected while maintaining a natural shape, tissue balance, and an aesthetically pleasing result.
