Yekatit 12 Hospital Medical College Holds Annual Research Conference

Yekatit 12 Hospital Medical College held its Annual Research Conference on October 29, 2026, under the theme “Advancing Evidence-Based and Innovative Health Solutions for Healthier Communities.” The conference brought together researchers, healthcare professionals, and academic staff to share research findings and discuss evidence-based approaches to improving healthcare services and public health outcomes.

The conference featured research presentations on maternal mental health, childhood stunting, maternal health decision-making, healthcare service quality, and mental health challenges affecting public health professionals in Ethiopia.

Among the studies presented were research on technology-supported interventions for prenatal depression and mental health-related quality of life, socioeconomic inequalities in childhood stunting among children under five, and the use of explainable machine learning to identify predictors of maternal continuation of care in sub-Saharan Africa.

Additional presentations examined healthcare service quality at Yekatit 12 Hospital Medical College using the SERVQUAL model and mental distress among members of the Ethiopian Public Health Association working in conflict-affected areas of Ethiopia.

The program also included discussions following research presentations, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange insights and reflect on the implications of the findings for healthcare practice, service delivery, and policy development.

The conference reaffirmed the importance of research in strengthening evidence-based decision-making, improving the quality of healthcare services, and developing innovative solutions to public health challenges.
