I've started writing again.

Years ago, I used to blog simply because I loved getting thoughts out of my head and onto a page. Somewhere along the way, I stopped.

This week I decided to start again.

No big content plan and no particular niche. Just observations about midlife, work, relationships, health, style and all the other things I find myself thinking about.

My first piece started with a question I've been asking myself recently:

**When is better good enough?**

Why am I constantly trying to improve something — my health, my work, my fitness, my relationships, even how I spend my downtime?

At one point I actually managed to turn a holiday into an opportunity to organise my life. 😂

Writing this was surprisingly therapeutic, and I loved doing it.

If you fancy a read, here's my first one. And if any of it sounds familiar, I'd genuinely love to know.

**When Is Better Good Enough?**

I've spent most of my life trying to improve everything. I'm starting to wonder whether the real challenge is knowing when to stop.

Pre-loved fashion is a great way to add unique pieces to your wardrobe, save money, and be more sustainable. Plus, there's something so satisfying about scoring a real bargain! If you're new to sites like Vinted or want to up your thrifting game, here are a few tips to help you find those hidden gems:

Tips for Shopping Pre-Loved Fashion:

Use Specific Keywords: Be detailed in your searches! Instead of just ‘jacket,’ try ‘vintage suede jacket’ or ‘oversized wool coat’ to narrow it down.

Check Men's Sections: Don’t forget to check the men’s categories! You can find amazing oversized blazers, coats, and accessories that suit your style.

Look for Trusted Sellers: Always check the seller’s reviews and ratings before buying. A well-reviewed seller means you’re likely getting exactly what’s described.

Filter by Condition: Use filters like ‘new with tags’ or ‘like new’ to find pieces in the best condition, especially if you’re looking for higher-end items.

Set Alerts: If you're after something specific, set alerts so you're notified when new items that match your search are listed.

Don’t Be Afraid to Negotiate: Sometimes sellers are open to offers, especially on items that have been listed for a while—don’t hesitate to send a friendly message and see if they'll budge on the price.

Search Off-Season: Buy winter coats and summer dresses in the winter. Off-season shopping often leads to better deals.

Look for Brands: If you're into designer or high-quality brands, search by brand name for better-targeted results. You might stumble upon something unique for a fraction of the retail price!

You never know what treasure you’ll find.

The warm, earthy tones of brown balance beautifully with the relaxed, calming vibe of blue. It’s that perfect mix of cosy and chic, making it an ideal combo for any season. Don’t be afraid to play with unexpected colour pairings; they might surprise you!

As a soft Autumn, I love all the earthy tones that come through this time of year—like this gorgeous sage green jumper. (Which I will link above) The rich, muted colours of Autumn feel right! Paired with white jeans and my sage green Adidas trainers.

A pro tip for your knitwear: don’t overwash it! To keep my knits looking their best, I always layer a T-shirt underneath to skip a few washes and save the fabric. Who’s ready for the cosy season?
