Today is World Spine Day and this year its all about spine health for life with so many affected by spinal injuries we have based our post on someone with a SCI but this is relevant for so many who struggle with their spine health from a range of conditions.

Alt description navy blue background with a full blue spine to the right hand side. Alongside our facts are circles with spine bones showing.
Moving your body is so important especially as we age and on those days we sit without moving for longer periods.
Its important to fuel our body with good healthy food and hydrating your body.
Any concerns regarding pressure, redness or breakdown should be highlighted to your medical team and checked.
Reaching out to others allows you to build friendships with others who know how you feel and can offer advice and support.
If you find yourself uncomfortable in any of your equipment reach out, try different set ups, for wheelchairs this can include cushions and a postural backrest it can also be changing the set up of your wheelchair to enable you to sit and be supported in your chair.

Did you know every pneumatic tyre will have a PSI value? The value is how much air should be in your tyre to give you the best performance and ride.
Checking your PSI should become part of a monthly check you should run on your chair or scooter to ensure its running optimally.
The PSI value will be shown on your tyre wall but you might need to move the wheel to enable you to read it.

Huge congratulations to Steph McGuire for being inducted into Scottish Disability Sport Hall of fame!

Steph has been playing boccia for over 20 years both individually and part of pairs teams. He has competed in 4 Paralympic games with his most recent Paris 2024 where he won gold.
We couldn't be more excited for Steph and we can see how much his teammates BocciaUK look up to him and his successes too.

Did you know today is World cerebral palsy day? In the Uk it is estimated that there are around 160,000 adults and children who have cerebral palsy. It is believed that 1 in every 400 children have CP.
If you are a parent or carer for a child with CP please reach out to The Olivias Steps Foundation πŸ‘£ I promise you and your children will find your community and support network from families who know how you feel and what you are going through.
We thought it would be good today to go through some myths of cerebral palsy especially as CP is the most common lifelong disability in the world.

On Saturday night we were invited to Edinburgh Giants annual race and awards night.
We had a mixture of horse races - which were very exciting in those last laps. We heard all about the Giants 2026 season and finished the evening on a high with the awards for the season.

Martyn (Super League Coach of the Year 2026) really had thought of everything and had ensured that those who couldn't attend had chance to create a video enabling them to be included and accept their award.

We especially loved the supporter of the year for James who never misses a home match.
What a privilege it was to be invited and to meet more of the teams and celebrate their amazing team.

We cant wait to see what 2027 has in store for Edinburgh Giants after an amazing 2026 πŸ”΅πŸŸ‘

Its our 20th Birthday today!
20 years ago Barbara and Helena stood in a near empty unit over in Cooperage Way having only relocated their lives a few months earlier. Alex continued to work in London to help fund the dream and our reps went above and beyond to help support us in those early days (we are lucky 20 years later we can still call them our lifelong friends)
They started with a dream and have built Albion Mobility bit by bit.
Its not always been a path thats been easy travelled especially in those early years and the "C" years (we wont mention those) but working together with our team over the years has taught us our end goal is always the same to support and enable our clients who then become a part of our Team Albion family.
We cant thank each and everyone of you for trusting us and thank you to our team that have always gone above and beyond.
Congratulations to Barbara and Helena πŸŽ‰
