πŸ’™ Some great links to services πŸ’™

πŸ‚β„οΈπŸ Winter here we come…

As we head into the colder months, there's a lot of support available across our communities to help people stay well, keep warm and get through winter.

The trouble is, it can be spread across lots of different services, organisations and websites. Knowing what's available is one thing; knowing where to find it is another. πŸ—ΊοΈ

So we've been bringing it all together on a page for you. πŸ’šπŸ’™

We've put together a kind of Winter Support Directory on our main Primary Care Collaboration website, gathering useful links, signposts and information in one place to make it easier to find the help you might need or pass it on to someone who could use it.

❄️ Here's a taste of what's included:

πŸ’Š Health advice and Pharmacy First: Information about common conditions your local pharmacy may be able to help with, alongside practical advice on managing winter illnesses.

🩹 Getting prepared at home: tips for checking your medicine cabinet and making sure you have some useful essentials to hand.

🧠 Mental health and emotional wellbeing: links to NHS self-help resources, Talking Therapies and urgent mental health support through NHS 111.

β˜• Warm Spots: places where people can spend time in a warm, welcoming space and connect with others in their community.

🏠 Financial, benefits and housing support: signposting to local organisations and council information that may help if you're struggling with bills, money or keeping your home warm.

πŸ₯ NHS services and winter health advice: including vaccination and seasonal health information, repeat prescriptions, and North Cumbria's emergency care information and hospital waiting times.

It's all gathered together here, so you don't have to go hunting around lots of different websites to get started:

We know there are lots of organisations doing valuable work to support people through the winter months. This page is our way of helping join the dots and making those resources a little easier to find.

Please share it around. You never know who might need one of these links this winter and sometimes, knowing where to start can really make all the difference. πŸ’šπŸ’™β„οΈ

πŸ“¬ Received a message asking you to confirm your address?

You may soon receive a letter, text message or email asking you to check that your address details are up to date.

These communications are part of a National NHS Exercise, led by NHS England and Primary Care Support England, to help keep patient records accurate.

βœ… What do you need to do?

If you receive a message, follow the instructions to confirm or update your address using the NHS Address Confirmation Service:
https://digital.nhs.uk/about-nhs-digital/confirm-your-home-address

You can also check or update your address through the NHS App.

πŸ“± How can you tell it's genuine?
The official communications will come from:

πŸ“§ Email:
[email protected]
[email protected]

πŸ“² Text message: NHSdetails

You'll normally be asked to respond within 30 to 60 days.

🏑 What if you've moved?

If your new address is outside your GP practice's catchment area, you may need to register with a new practice. If you're unsure what this means for you, contact your current GP practice to discuss your options.

The service can also be used to let NHS England know if you've moved abroad.

The NHS Personal Demographics Service (PDS) holds key patient details, including names, addresses and NHS numbers, helping keep records accurate and up to date. Keeping your details up to date helps the NHS maintain accurate records and make sure patient information is correct.
