A Little Extra Support Can Make a Big Difference!
Do you or a loved one need a little extra help or companionship during the day?

At Tendacare, we currently have some availability before lunchtime and early afternoon to offer friendly, flexible support to help people stay happy, active and independent in their own homes and local community.

Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference!
Whether it's a regular visit or just a little extra support, we can help with:
Companionship and social visits – a friendly face, a chat and a cup of tea.
Wellbeing checks – making sure everything is okay.
Light household tasks – a helping hand around the home.
Daily activities – support with everyday routines.
Gentle walks – getting out for some fresh air and exercise.
Community outings – helping people enjoy local activities and make new friends.

We can also accompany people to some lovely local social activities, including:

Every Friday 1pm–2.30pm

☕ Friendship Café – Liberham Lodge
Every Thursday 3pm–4.30pm

💜 Dementia Café – Milner House
First Friday of every month 10.30am–12pm

This is the highest rating a care provider can receive, and we're so proud of what our amazing team has achieved.

This recognition belongs to every member of our Tendacare Team. Our wonderful carers who provide compassionate, person-centred care every day, our office team who work tirelessly behind the scenes, and everyone who plays a part in making sure the people we support receive the very best care possible.

Most importantly, we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to our service users and their families. Thank you for placing your trust in us and for the kind words, feedback and encouragement you've shared over the years. Your support means more than you know.

Did you catch our Manager Sophie on BBC Radio Surrey today?
Sophie joined the conversation about hospital pressures and delayed discharges, sharing an important message from the home care sector.
While there is often discussion about a lack of care capacity in the community, Sophie highlighted that many domiciliary care providers, including Tendacare, have capacity available and are ready to support people safely at home.
She also spoke about something many families will recognise: most people would rather recover in their own home, surrounded by loved ones, maintaining their independence wherever possible.
As Sophie said:
"There is capacity out here. There is plenty of capacity in domiciliary care agencies for people to be referred home with a safe package of care."

A lovely morning spent with fellow local professionals, all committed to supporting people in our community to live well, stay safe and access the right support when they need it.

One of the things I value most about working in care is the willingness of different organisations to come together, share knowledge and work collaboratively for the benefit of local people and their families.
Whether it's health services, emergency services, care providers or community organisations, strong partnerships help us achieve better outcomes and ensure people receive the support that is right for them.

Thank you to everyone involved. It is always encouraging to see so many people passionate about making a positive difference in our local community.

Dementia changes little things that many of us take for granted.
Remembering what day it is, knowing which tablets to take, feeling confident enough to go out, or just recognising routines.
It can also change life for families, who are often quietly trying to cope and adjust to the changes of a loved one, and the constant question of whether they’re doing enough.
During Dementia Action Week, we want to recognise the people living with dementia and the families supporting them every single day.
Good care is not about rushing in and taking over. It is about patience, familiar faces, gentle reassurance, and taking time to sit and listen when someone needs comfort more than conversation.
At Tendacare, we see how much difference consistent, compassionate support can make in helping someone stay settled and comfortable in the home they know and love.

“We’re not quite ready for care yet” is something we hear a lot.

And in many cases, it’s true. But often, support is most helpful when it starts earlier than people expect.

You don’t have to wait for things to become difficult. Introducing short support visits, just a few visits a week, can help prevent situations from becoming overwhelming later on.

It can also give families peace of mind, knowing someone is checking in, helping with key tasks, and keeping an eye on things.

At Tendacare, we often start with simple support like medication visits or help around the home, small tasks that start to build relationships and trust and then adjust as needs change over time.

It’s been another busy week at Tendacare, and we wanted to say thank you to our team for the great care they deliver every day.

From short medication visits to long calls taking people out in the community, our carers focus on how they can make a difference to someone's day, by being on time, listening, and supporting people in a way that works for them. It is what we do best!

We’re also very grateful to the people we support and their families for the trust they place in us. We do not take this for granted.
