COULD THE FOODS YOU EAT BE CONTRIBUTING TO HOW YOU FEEL?

Do you experience: bloating, digestive discomfort, excessive wind, changes in bowel habits, headaches, fatigue, skin concerns or other unexplained symptoms?

At Aligned Wellness I offer comprehensive premium food intolerance testing. Using a simple blood test, we will look at your immune response to 200+ different foods.

You will discover foods that should be avoided completely, causing the body stress, and foods that need to be reduced.

If you've been struggling to work out which foods may or may not agree with you, testing can provide another piece of information to explore.

Homegrown lunch today-

Tomatoes šŸ…
Cucumber šŸ„’ (organic from store)
Sprouts (organic)
Olives
Toasted seeds
Hummus (organic and homemade)
Walnuts
Quinoa (underneath it all)

I’ve been having vegetarian lunches for many months now and I really enjoy it. I have meat at dinner and that is all. That may work for some people, but not everyone, and yes I do get enough protein šŸ˜‰

This lunch is packed with so many good nutrients to keep me going, and it tastes delicious!

Did you know you don’t have to buy proper sprouting equipment to sprout seeds at home? All you need is a glass jar, some mesh cloth and the seeds. Sprouting is so good for you because it makes the vitamins, minerals and protein so much easier for your body to absorb through the germination process. It significantly increases the levels of vitamin A, C, B and E. It’s packed with antioxidants and phytonutrients that can help protect your cells from damage. If you want to try this at home just clean a glass jar and purchase some organic seeds with some mesh cloth. Feel free to message me with any questions.

A quick lunch today, but so many beneficial food combos here…
The nutrients and plant compounds are really helping aid the absorption here.

Tomatoes (still homegrown here) and avocado are a given. Tomatoes provide lycopene, a fat-soluble carotenoid. Eating tomato with avocado’s healthy fats can increase the amount of carotenoids that your digestive system can absorb.

Tofu and tomatoe - Tofu provides non-haem iron, while tomato provides vitamin C. Vitamin C helps convert iron into a form that’s easier for the body to absorb.

So adding tomato to a tofu meal is a useful strategy, particularly for predominantly plant-based diets.

The sauerkraut makes any meal more palatable and easier to digest. Walnuts, beans and olives, all good for fibre, omegas and digestion too.

So, all up for a quick lunch I’ve got: protein+ iron+ vitamin c+ healthy fats+ carotenoids/antioxidants+fibre+ fermented foods and phytonutrients to keep going this afternoon!

Enjoy the his gorgeous sunshine! ā˜€ļø

Did you know there are microplastics in your body from everyday exposure through foods, containers, water bottles and so much more? These guys over time can really disrupt your gut by reducing the healthy bacteria and diversity, which is important for immunity, brain health, and nutrient absorption.

It’s pretty hard to eliminate microplastics completely, but you can reduce exposure. One way is by eating kimchi which ā€˜mops’ up microplastics in your GI tract and eliminates them. I like to add kimchi to salads, but you can eat it right from the jar.

Other ways to reduce exposure include choosing glass or stainless steel, avoid heating food in plastic containers, don’t use plastic for any hot foods, use stainless steel, wood or bamboo in the kitchen and avoid takeaways/carry-out. Little swaps will add up in the long run.
