Barns are delighted to once again be working with Elaine and RT Resources having employed not one, but two, Modern Apprentices training as Practice Receptionists 😊

Morgan and Eve are thriving in their new posts and developing the skills they need for Business Administration.

👋 Meet Elaine McCubbin
This week we're shining a spotlight on one of our assessors, Elaine.

Elaine supports Business Admin and Management Modern Apprentices and employers across Scotland, helping learners build their skills, develop confidence and work towards recognised qualifications. She also delivers L&D Assessor and Verifier qualifications.

With over 30 years’ experience in business systems, finance, marketing and training, Elaine is passionate about supporting learners to reach their full potential and recognise the value of the skills they use every day in the workplace.

Keep an eye on our page this week as Elaine shares more about what happens during an assessment visit and how assessors support both apprentices and employers throughout the learning journey.

What support is available when a loved one comes home from hospital❓❓❓

A question raised at our recent Patient Participation Group meeting.

After months in hospital following illness, injury or a stroke, bringing your loved one home can feel like a huge milestone. It’s a happy occasion, but it can also be overwhelming.

How do you help with day-to-day tasks? What equipment might be needed? Where can you get emotional support? And what happens if finances change because someone can no longer work?

We asked our team where patients and carers can find help, and here are three great places to start:

💙 1. Speak to our Community Link Worker
Vicki, our Community Link Worker is available in the Practice 4 days a week and can help connect you with local services, support groups, benefits advice, carers’ support and much more. You can book an appointment with her through our reception team.

💙 2. Register with Carers Gateway South Ayrshire
You don’t have to do it alone. The Carers Centre, based in Sandgate, Ayr offers practical advice, information, training opportunities and emotional support for unpaid carers.

💙 3. Download the Bridgit Care App
Bridgit Care helps families create personalised care plans and offers practical guidance on everyday caring tasks, from personal care and mobility support to accessing benefits and local services.

Remember, caring for someone starts with looking after yourself too. There is support available.
