ADHD Awareness Month: Understanding the 3 presentations of ADHD
Did you know that ADHD can present in different ways? No two people experience ADHD in exactly the same way.
✨ The three presentations of ADHD are:
💭 Predominantly Inattentive Presentation – May involve difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, losing track of tasks and becoming easily distracted.
⚡ Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Presentation – May involve restlessness, feeling constantly on the go, acting impulsively or finding it difficult to wait.
🔄 Combined Presentation – Includes a combination of inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive characteristics.
ADHD is more than what we see on the surface, and it can affect everyone differently. Understanding these presentations helps us challenge stereotypes, recognise individual experiences and create more supportive environments. 💚
Throughout October, The Open Practice will be sharing posts to raise awareness, encourage open conversations and help break down misconceptions surrounding ADHD.
💬 Let's keep learning, listening and supporting one another.
