In my ECZEMA clinic I see adults and children everyday struggling with their eczema — and I’ve learnt that there’s rarely just one answer to the question:
“Why is my eczema still flaring?”

So when someone comes to see me, I’m not just thinking about their skin.
I’m looking for the clues.
What could be influencing the immune response?
What’s happening elsewhere in the body?
And what might actually be worth investigating?

🔎 I’ve pulled back the curtain.
My new free guide gives you a peek at the framework I use in my clinic — and the different pieces of the eczema puzzle I consider.

And this isn’t:
❌ “This worked for me, so try it.”
❌ Another list of foods to cut out.
❌ My personal theory about eczema.
It’s science-led and fully referenced, so you can dive into the research yourself if you want to.

You can now have a little peek inside my brain…
…and stop guessing about what to try next. 🔎

One of the first things I do when a baby comes into my clinic with ECZEMA is to do a Gut Microbiome test.

Once the results come back, we can follow really strong scientific research to target bacterial species that are missing or that may be too high.
I use targeted probiotics and can support the mum in weaning her baby so that meals include the fibres that the Microbiome need.
I also had a mum today who was still breastfeeding so we adapted her food intake in order to support her baby’s gut Microbiome.
I really look forward to hearing how they’ve got on in our next appointments.

Honestly. If you have eczema - your body is trying to tell you something.
Working out what that is is the puzzle that we all have to go through - but looking at the scientific evidence is a really helpful shortcut!

Let me tell you about what happened to me and my skin and how it can help you:

For years I thought my skin was just broken.😞

I spent a lot of time looking for the answers. I’d follow people on Instagram who’d “cured” their eczema and think, I’ll do what they did.

I cut out dairy. Then gluten. Then other foods. And I ended up with a pretty limited diet and was scared to eat half the things in my kitchen.
I even drank celery juice every morning because someone said it had changed their life.🙄
It did not change mine.

I don’t think those people were making it up. What they did probably did help them.
But we’re all different.
We all have different reasons why our eczema flares up. Different triggers. Different digestive systems. Different immune systems. Different lives.

That’s why I decided to train as a Registered Nutritional Therapist.
I wanted to understand the science behind why one thing helps one person and does absolutely nothing for someone else.
It also made me realise that my body wasn’t trying to make my life miserable. It was trying to get my attention.

These days I don’t tell people to copy what I did, or what someone else did on Instagram.

I’d much rather help you work out what’s actually going on with your skin.

Hi there.
I guess if you are here, you have a problem with eczema too.
It is a total b****** but you can recover from it.

I had 20 years of eczema which affected my confidence, sleep and generally making life really difficult and frustrating.
Managed it with steroids until I was told by a GP that I would never be able to stop using them.
This triggered something in me - and I thought “I’ll show them”!!
So I started reading all the scientific research on eczema. I ended up with a degree in the biochemistry of Nutrition.
My eczema is now under control - by optimising my liver detox pathways, immune system (via my gut microbiome etc) and adressing nutritional deficiencies.

My life’s goal is now to help others get them selves out of the terrible hole of eczema.
It is possible - just a case of following the scientific research, and personalising it to individual needs. Hannahx

One of my biggest nutrition pet hates?

Seeing people with eczema end up scared to eat half the supermarket.

Sometimes reducing high-histamine foods can be useful for a short period, but your long-term answer is not another ever-growing list of foods to avoid.

I’d much rather help you understand why your body is producing or struggling to deal with histamine in the first place.

Important Announcement: My hairdresser thought I was in my twenties this week. (I’m 49!)
I’ll admit... I was pretty pleased with this but actually, I don’t spend my life trying to look younger. So my goal has never been “perfect” skin.
In fact, my skin has been ridiculously sensitive for most of my adult life. It’s complained about food, stress, perfume, lack of sleep... you name it.
So my goal is simply to have skin that’s calm enough to forget about.
In this week’s email newsletter I’m sharing the (very unglamorous!) things I do every day that make the biggest difference to my skin. No £200 creams. No miracle supplements. Just the habits that have helped me keep my skin happy and healthy.
If you’ve got problem skin, or if your skin seems to have a mind of its own, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

Managing a skin problem like ECZEMA is not about managing the skin!
I know it may sound crazy but the skin is the last place I look at in my SKIN CLINIC.
This is what I look at, test and analyse in my clinic:

The gut/skin axis (the gut microbiome’s influence on the immune system and the skins response)
Efficient liver detoxification pathways
Bile production and recycling
Absorption of nutrients
Omega 3 ratios

All these things can be managed by the food you eat (the science of nutrition is phenomenal 🥳)

An easy way to find out which foods you are sensitive to is by testing!
In my email this week I talk about IgG food sensitivity testing and why it can be really useful to make sure you don’t unnecessarily cut out foods.
