I don’t think we talk enough about midlife loneliness. You can be busy, loved and surrounded by people, and still feel it.

For me, the answer was creating things that bring people together.

Maman Padel is women, rackets and plenty of laughs, with no need to be good at it.

Batch with Helen is a morning in the kitchen cooking 4 family dinners in under 2 hours, which you take home in a cool bag so midweek takes care of itself.

🍝 Next Batch with Helen: Sunday 22nd November, 10am–12 noon, Central Bath. £150 for two, with food, equipment and tea and coffee all included. Just 4 spots, so DM me or tap the link in bio.

And whether or not you can join me, I’d love to hear where you’ve found your people.

£23.50. One hour. Five weeknight dinners for a family of four.

The average family of four spends £161 a week on food, and around £54 of that goes on dinners. This plan costs less than half.

Here’s how it works: batch cook once, store everything in the fridge, then cook one fresh protein on the night. No “what’s for tea?” panic at 5pm, and no mid-week top-up shop.

At £1.18 a portion, that’s over £1,500 back in your pocket every year.

Imagine it’s Sunday lunchtime, and four nights of family dinners are already sorted.

I’m so excited to share that I’m hosting my very first in-person cooking class, right here in Bath!

Join me for a relaxed, hands-on morning where you’ll cook four easy, delicious meals and take them all home. No faff, no fancy kit, just real food your family will actually eat.

🍝 Sausage (or Tofu) Pasta
🌯 One Pot Veggie Enchilada
🌶️ Veggie Fajita Rice Bowls with Bean Salad
🥔 Loaded Mediterranean Baked Potatoes

That’s enough to feed a family of 4 for 4 nights, all cooked in under 2 hours.

📅 Sunday 22nd November
⏰ 10am – 12 noon
📍 Central Bath
🎟️ £150 for two people

Everything’s included: all the food and equipment, a cool bag and a hessian bag to carry it home, plus tea and coffee to finish. Just bring four lidded containers (Tupperware is perfect) to take your dinners home in,

Bring your partner, your mum or your best friend. It also makes a brilliant gift for the foodie (or the frazzled parent!) in your life.

We all grieve differently. Some silently, some loudly. Losing both Mum and Dad has been so hard, and staying connected to them once they’re gone is harder still. But I find real peace in the kitchen. Cooking the way they taught me feels like an act of love, theirs and mine.

What dish tastes like someone you miss? Tell me below. I’d love to know.

It’s go time! I’m so excited to embrace my natural colour. Where are you on this? Embracing the grey? Rejecting the grey? Fil me in.

This account doesn’t feel like home anymore, and I want to be honest about why.

I only ever show you a tiny part of me. The truth? I batch cook because I want my evenings to be easier. I love food, but I want meals to be quick and delicious.

So I’m switching things up. More real life, and still plenty of cooking.

The food content isn’t going anywhere. You’ll just see a bit more of the person making them.
